What do you think of these new R14T tires? R1 + R4 + Turf in one... 20190215_111614.jpeg20190215_111612.jpeg20190215_111604.jpeg20190215_111602.jpeg

I was thinking that they look very interesting. Thankfully, I'm at least 2 years from needing replacement tires so I will have the luxury of everyone else's real life experience! I wondered which rims these would mount on-since the R1, R3, And R4 are often all different? Also, for us MFWD owners, there is always the question of the correct circumference ratio …

Lov'em. I always wished they built something like this. Who makes them? Kabota had something like them years ago, more of a zig-zag tread.

Goodyear makes them.

To be honest they look more like an R4 than a turf. They may be a good compromise though.

I would like them more if they filled in the missing every-other bars.

Look like good traction tires, but I wonder if they are really good turf replacements. Seems like they may do more damage to turf than R4s.

I do like the looks of them though. Very aggressive.

I think they are a MAJOR problem, and here is why: What in the heck are we tractor owners going to argue over if not the merits of R1 vs R4 vs R3 tires? I mean this is sort of the backbone of a lot of threads here. Now some scalawag comes up with a "all in one" tire and defeats the whole purpose of TBN? In a few years if we all have tires like this, what will we do for a pass time, argue about grease?. Talk about dogs and cats living together, this tire to end all tires would certainly take a lot of wind out of a lot of sails... No,, just say no, to R14's. :) tongue now taken out of cheek.

I agree..........NOT a "turf" tire.

Whether or not they lived up to the hype? Worthy of any extra cost? Change now or wait until tires are needed?

I don't know of course, I have never seen any except for these photos. I wouldn't mind trying them out. We will know more in a few years. If they really are the best thing since sliced bread, the dealers will specify them on all new tractors as they will be so popular that people will not want anything else. But this is all just speculation.

Was told that in testing the R14T only had about 5-10% more slippage in field applications than R1 lug. Similar to R4 performance. Roading much better than R1 lug. Technically R14T is an R1 with a unique tread pattern that they are calling R14T.20190216_143059.jpeg20190216_144039.jpeg20190216_142626.jpeg20190216_144045.jpeg20190216_144049.jpeg

I could use a pair for the fronts on the B7500, they are about worn out. Local Titan dealer claims to know nothing about them though...

Yeah, I find it interesting that dealers never seem to know anything about anything. It is very convenient for them. As an Example, there are hundreds of our members here that would remember the problems with the Kubota "standard" tractors having a jerky 3pt hitch,, but you won't find any dealers owning up to knowing anything about it. Of course he knows nothing about these tires.. He doesn't have any for sale, and would much prefer to sell you what he has in stock. :)
