Just won't be the same now that Big E is driving in heaven.

I am still shocked! It will leave a big void in the sport. I cant even imagine what Dale Jr. is going through right now .May Dale rest in peace,and our prayers are for his family. Eric

Even this morning its still hard to believe that Mr.Dale Earnhart no longer w/us...{this truly sucks man!!}..nor will his presents lighten not only the race fans but his family and friends.
Kinda hope the cancel next weeks race for the other drivers...talk about a depressing start 2001 racing season..dam.

I saw the big crash and remembered that Dale made it through that. Went to Menards and watched the last five laps with half the store on a small TV. Saw the crash, but didn't think anything of it and went home. Later, while on TBN, my wife came in and said Dale had died. I said "that's not possible, he came through the big crash just fine". It didn't even dawn on me that he could have died in that last crash, it just didn't seem like a big deal.
Definitely a sad day for motorsports.

I thing Bill France Jr. summed it up well - "Best driver ever". He was a true sports icon and will be sorely missed. Whether you loved him or hated him one thing is for sure, he sure was fun to watch. I hope Dale Jr. keeps racing, I know his dad would have wanted it that way.
Dale may not of been everyones favorite driver but man did he have talent! When they used to run bias ply tires he was the one to watch, he could do things with a race car only others dreamed of! I'm still in shock.Reminds me of the day John Lennon died. R.I.P. Racing just wont be the same. Tom
