Some of the higher mountains in Utah do have year round snow/ice. My home sits about 4500', so about another month and no more snow for me.
Odd thing is lots of people love the views I have, and I love the views they have- - -trees! I guess it's hard to find the perfect place. Although Alaska would be great if it wasn't for the long cold winters.
These pictures were taken June 29,2010 some of that snow stayed all year !!
I finished another mile stone on my barn. The floor is completely done.
I used Crusher Fines to finish it off. It is so nice to be rid of the dust. Here are some pics I took.
This last picture is my next project, getting a nice work bench. The barrels and plywood has to go.
The base of the mountains are only about 2 miles from my house. They are about 9,000 feet high. I have been close to the top with my ATV but it gets real steep and rocky with too many trees up high. Plus most of the top belongs to Kennecott copper mine.
I tell my wife if she'd just come out to the barn she wouldn't be a widow. Maybe when it gets warmer. I am going to build some kind of work bench and shelves in the corner where the barrels are. Right now my tools are spread between the big barn the little barn my big garage and the house garage. I never have the tools I need where I need them. Sometimes I cant even find them. So I want a place where I can put all of them.
So I have spread about 30 tons of gravel on the entry to the barn. Still need some more to finish the road but it's good enough for now.
I am also working on installing a Cupola. Here's a picture of the frame work. I want to put it on the roof to check for fit and such before building any more, but it's to windy today.
