RAM 5500 Pickup

3/4 of a tank is roughly 350lbs. 4x4 drivetrain adds about 800 lbs, steel deck is probably 2~300 lbs more than aluminum. You weigh....

In any event I have the scale ticket at the office. This is for a 2003 7.3 F550 XLT.

Specs directly from ford for 2012.. see page 55.

Chassis Cab Specs

BTW, the 7.3l is much lighter than any of the newer ford diesels, 6.0 and up. A couple hundred more there for the newer trucks.

Yep, that is about right. They list my truck as a Cab and Chassis, no bed base trim, at 7,139#. I said my truck weighed 7,600#, 2006 F-350 SRW 4x4 FX4 Lariat.

So yes, my truck is 7,600# just like I said. Thanks

And the 4x4 option is closer to 400#, not 800# Look at the buyers guide you supplied.

Nice lookin rig. Kinda looks like a 05/06 Ford from the side/front. They finally got the design right.:laughing:

I like the fact that it has the large capacity fuel tank, and increased pull weight, and at still a decent MPG versus the higher class rigs. Might've found a "niche".
Wonder how much.......$$$

You must have happy scales.

Crew Cab F550, 4x2, Aluminum deck, no fuel = 7200 lbs.

There's no way your dually F350 weighs 8000 lbs. Even full of fuel.

My 3/4 ton QCSB 4x4 Dodge Cummins weighs 8000# fully fueled(~75gal). and a 1 ton especially a dually will weigh more. That and the fords are marginally heavier than a similarly equipped Dodge, so there are all kinds of ways that a 1t CC 4wd dually weighs 7600 empty.

I seen the?My bad! Guess it was one of the smart question/answers I didnt catch:laughing: I like the Ford 450/550,just scared of the powerstroke.I would like to have A 4x4 crew/cab ford 450 with chevy's interior and a cummins.I have 8500 miles on mine View attachment 254066 and just got it out for a minor fix(some kinda heater relay),none are like they use to be anymore.

I guess im just cheap cause I didnt wonna spend 9,000 more, for the Ford with same options..

No sweat. Some of us just haven't realized Ford is just another 4 letter word. Dodge, Chevy and truck are all 5 letter words :D

That's a nice looking truck, but don't you guys ever get them dirty?

Very few people I know that bought a RAM truck has ever bought second one. The Air Conditioning is always marginal, Transmission issues everywhere, Front steering wonders on the road. The cummins diesel is about the only good thing there is to talk about. Trouble is you can't buy just the engine. They look cool, I'll give them that, but that's where it stops.
If Ford signed a deal with Cummins, it's all over for the RAM trucks. Just my opinion.

I hope your joking? Ram owners often tend to be a pretty faithfull crowd. I have some experience driving a lot of different brand trucks for my job. If I were to take step back and give on honest observation, I would say they are all pretty equal. We have a 2011 Ford at work, and to be honest I like it the least of any we have had for a while. Its a good truck and drives fine, I just don't like the heater and radio controls.

As far the the Ram Long Hauler. I of course think its very cool, but way beyond what I need a truck for.

Yep, they all have a built in loyal crowd. I personally have had every brand and like the Ford lineup the best. You like the Dodges and someone else likes the GM's. Just the way it is. This argument will go on forever.

By the way my rental car for the evening in Atlanta is a 2012 Hemi Challenger. Love the dash and interior. It looks sharp in Silver with black leather and that faux metal dash.
