3/4 of a tank is roughly 350lbs. 4x4 drivetrain adds about 800 lbs, steel deck is probably 2~300 lbs more than aluminum. You weigh....
In any event I have the scale ticket at the office. This is for a 2003 7.3 F550 XLT.
Specs directly from ford for 2012.. see page 55.

You must have happy scales.
Crew Cab F550, 4x2, Aluminum deck, no fuel = 7200 lbs.
There's no way your dually F350 weighs 8000 lbs. Even full of fuel.
I seen the?My bad! Guess it was one of the smart question/answers I didnt catch:laughing: I like the Ford 450/550,just scared of the powerstroke.I would like to have A 4x4 crew/cab ford 450 with chevy's interior and a cummins.I have 8500 miles on mine View attachment 254066 and just got it out for a minor fix(some kinda heater relay),none are like they use to be anymore.
I guess im just cheap cause I didnt wonna spend 9,000 more, for the Ford with same options..
Very few people I know that bought a RAM truck has ever bought second one. The Air Conditioning is always marginal, Transmission issues everywhere, Front steering wonders on the road. The cummins diesel is about the only good thing there is to talk about. Trouble is you can't buy just the engine. They look cool, I'll give them that, but that's where it stops.
If Ford signed a deal with Cummins, it's all over for the RAM trucks. Just my opinion.
I hope your joking? Ram owners often tend to be a pretty faithfull crowd. I have some experience driving a lot of different brand trucks for my job. If I were to take step back and give on honest observation, I would say they are all pretty equal. We have a 2011 Ford at work, and to be honest I like it the least of any we have had for a while. Its a good truck and drives fine, I just don't like the heater and radio controls.
As far the the Ram Long Hauler. I of course think its very cool, but way beyond what I need a truck for.
