Avoid the US. The first thing they will look at is what you are registered for. Exceed that and you are going to pay no matter what your truck is rated for. The next will be the weight ratings on your tires. Since anyone can upgrade the suspension and brakes the door sticker means little to the DMV.

Good point. I think the biggest thing in the US is what the truck is licensed for. If you are licensed for 12k and you are grossing out at 13k, you are overweight, no matter what the manufacturer rates your truck at. Non-commercially, I doubt any ratings are ever looked at with the exception of the rating on the license.

However, with the sue-happy society we live in, those ratings on the door and tires could come into play and cost you greatly if you caused an accident and you were over on any one of those ratings.

I didn't ask where you are "seeing what YOU want to see", I wanted to know where I was "seeing what I want to see." I know where your bias is coming in. Just would like to know where mine is, because I'm reading facts, not making stuff up.

I would like to see your door sticker. That is the real number after subtracting all your options. Aftermarket air bags add nothing to the legal payload capacity. Here is my sticker on an 2011 f150 ecoboost supercrew 2wd.

You know thats mostly a limitation with the tires put on at the factory, right? (P series on a truck??) Upgrade tires and you can upgrade your GVWR as long as you dont go over the axle ratings. No law says you cant. IF you are questioned, just prove it with the paperwork. No worries. Same goes if you upgrade suspension components, axles, whatever.. Just show that its good to go and dont worry.

Diesel Fuel Taxes - Compare Taxes On Diesel Fuel In All 50 States

You're not going to like my answer.... It's been a while since I looked at your gasoline taxes, those are currently taxed higher than I realized. Thank you for correcting my perception.

Went looking for current diesel tax info (gas is lower down on that page too). I expected some variation State to State, but it's a bit wider than I would have guessed.

I can tell you right now that gas ans diesel in the Chicago area is HUGELY HIGHER than it is near me, even though we pay more in fuel taxes to help offset the HUGELY LOWER property taxes Just complaining about the fuel taxes does nothing.
