I stumbled across a ramp patch on our farm this past Sunday. Ive seen them here before but never as big of a patch as I found. I like one good meal of them a year and that about all I can stand. Pickled ramps on the other hand are addictive. Try them if you ever get a chance.

I've had them before. A friend of mine used to pickle them. Sadly he has passed.
Do you have the recipe for the pickle?

I live on a lake, our cove is fed by "Ramp" Creek. I better get out and start looking.

So what's the difference then between ramps and scallions?

Ramps have one or two leaves, something like rabbit ears, and are much more pungent.
