Rant on shipping

UPS said it had a sortation issue, I think it was maybe a retape issue after dropping it from high up in the atmosphere!
Amazingly, nothing got damaged or lost, just a few days delay.

I've never had so many packages get lost and mis directed. Actually I don't think I've ever had any packages lost and mis directed until this year.

And the person that came up with "SMART POST" should NEVER work in shipping logistics.

I had one last week with a UPS tracking number that got sent to the wrong city. When they finally got it to my town they handed it off to USPS. They brought it to me on Sunday. Go Figure?

I mistakenly got hooked into a Prime membership last month. Bought a set of hole saws that were supposed to be cobalt. Sold by ??? Shipped by Amazon. Never showed. Amazon put me off for 2 weeks before giving me a refund.

On the upside I have bought a few things through Walmart lately. They have shipped FedEx and arrival times have been good.

Getting harder to track anything accurately these days. USPS has really gone off the rails.

I just ordered a new Pro HVLP from eastwood, ordered it on a Thursday and was on my front porch Monday.

Free shipping.

My faith in supply chains are temporally resorted.

My Daughter makes and sends out a lot of custom masks, customer gets to choose the mode of shipping. Either they are in a hurry or they want it the cheapest way. She currently has 45 "still in transit" with the post office, most shipped in September. She fills out a lost item tag, and they pull the tracking number up and it says "in transit" so they tell her that and close out the lost item ticket. Do they ever do anything about it, well, not yet!!

Now they have dozer blades that can mount on a forklift. It lets trucks carry more boxes. :)

Pack the boxes in the truck with a dozer blade. That'll make for more deliveries.

Fedex didn't deliver to me yesterday, due to a weather event.
Seems darkness/night is a weather event now?
Was on a truck from a few towns over and rain here/there did not start until 8:30 at night.

I use the usps weekly..
They have gone up 3x in a month.!!! & 2x in 1 week.!!
I was miffed to say the least.
But it’s cheaper that driving it to Utah from SC.. THATS how I rationalize it.. lol

Once shipped an aircraft strut (oval aluminum tube) via UPS from Montreal to Vancouver without any packaging whatsoever, just a label and felt marker details on the strut.
Arrived A-OK.
Being very light it was handled well and probably travelled on top of the load.
LOL, a gamble that paid off.
At the time labor and materials would have doubled the item costs.
