Man, for $150 I would for sure give it a try. People seem to love the piranha too, or really, whatever tooth bar they go with. My 2 cents would be that the piranha is slightly more efficient for saplings and brush removal, whereas the conventional toothbar digs dirt a bit better. They both work well.

I did first buy a ratchet rake too. It was helpful for scraping saplings out of the ground and making smooth trail, but not being able to use the bucket was a total buzzkill, and now it just sits in the barn.

I have 3 4x4 tractors with fels a 26 hp a 28 hp and a 38 hp .The 2 smaller tractors have standard toothbars and for digging and ground scraping they are good. The 38 hp has a pirrahna bar and it is way better for digging and tree removal. at my farm i have lots of creek crossings and ditches that i constantly have to fill with dirt, there is a high bank next to my lake that i dig out of andy. the pirahna digs right in to the clay. People on here always say , oh you cant dig with an fel but thats bull. I have filled a hole 8 ft deep 20 ft long 10 ft wide that had been washed in the overflow of my lake with my tractor in about 4 hrs. well not all of it but quite a bit. A toothbar is a must as far as im concerned and the pirahna is worth the wait.

I forgot to mention that it will rip certain trees right out of the ground and others it will shear off. My regular toothbars wontwork near as well on that.

Tried regular toothbar and was not impressed.
Piranha bar much better at clearing and digging. No regrets.
Made in Tennessee on your side of Knoxville. I and several friends saved some by picking up at factory. Highly recommend and worth the wait.

Everything attachments makes a similar bar as the piranha. They make good stuff but no experience with their toothbar.

Is there any real need for this if you have a wicked 55?

Good question.

Have skidsteer root and log grapple and wicked grapple for the smaller tractor. I can clear brush and understory trees faster with the piranha bar. Does a better job of slipping the smaller trees out of the ground with minimum ground disturbance. The V teeth grip and driving forward greatly increases pulling strength. Can’t carry brush or logs like the grapples can. Love my grapples and spend majority of time on the tractors.

Found the piranha bar useful in shearing over hanging pesky branches off trees.

Piranha bar improves digging performance over a straight blade particularly for lower hp tractors.
