I'm on my third TC40D and DA in the last 6 years and have the same problem with the rattling ROPS. In the past I've used a piece of round baler belting between the ROPS hinge which seems to take care of the problem. However, when I fold the ROPS I typically lose one of the pieces and have to make a new one. Today I used a folded piece of an old inner tube which took care of the rattle .

I can't be the only one with a class III Boomer that experiences the rattle. Has anyone found a permanent fix or do the rattles just irrirate you a little less. My wife says I shouldn't be so sensitive.

As you get older, your hearing will get worse, and you won't notice it as much. In the meantime, use some rubber cement to hold the "fix". The other suggestion is to get a radio.. with the modern music playing, you won't hear anything rattling.:D

TC,
Even though you posted on in JD Forum we will still try to help you:D

I put 3/4" "O"-rings on the pins of my ROPS, it made alot of the noise go away for me.

The "O" rings have stopped the leaking noise from getting out.:D

Sorry about posting in the wrong place. I've got to wear my reading glasses when I post.

Try painting the tractor green. It won;t do much for the rattle. You really won't like it much better (how could you?) But it is for Science, and then your post will be in the right section...

Hi:

I have a 2305 and a 3320. The 3320 came with a folding rops with no 'anti-rattle' devices but doesn't seem to rattle since I have a pretty heavy canopy and mount on it that pre-loads the folding rops in the forward direction.

I put a FEMCO folding rops on the 2305 and it did come with 'anti-rattle' devices. Basically what it is is a threaded (welded on nut) insert that I screw a wing bolt into that puts pressure on the pivot so that the safety PIN is under stress and thus won't rattle back and forth.

I've replace the wing bolts with SS allen bolts so I could put a little more torque on them and it works well, no folding ROPS related rattles.
