I will take a look at that injector, doesn't appear to me that rust is down inside the outer part of the injector, I see where it looks that way in the photo though.

As far as any sealant spray, nothing is flaking off anywhere that looks like any type of sealant, but I am not sure what your referring to. I believe that is just grease and dirt, I will take a warm rag this evening and see if that wipes off easy.

HF did not have a 22MM deep socket by itself and I have no need for the complete set at $37. I will stop by Lowes after work.

The "sealant" he was refferring to is a copper spray, its in a spray can. I remember it from when i worked at an auto parts house. It was for head gaskets but dont remember the circumstances it was used under? Maybe reuseing an old gasket? Anyway you DONT want to use it i was always told.

And at Lowes your going to pay between $5 and $10 for that one socket!! Do you have a pawn shop on your way home? Many times you can buy a single socket out of a big box of randoms for a dollar or two.

my local HF said they have a truck coming this evening and may have more, so i'll check with them tomorrow.

I wiped down the block yesterday, that was just grease/dirt on the gasket, it wiped right off. by Monday I will have results as whether re-torquing solved it, if not I'll replace the head gasket after I get my food plots in.

I wouldn't loosen the head bolts before tightening. That might let water seep where it wasn't leaking before. I would just start at the center and work outward as specified in the service manual. In multiple stages, if any are significantly below spec. Don't overlook the one hidden in the intake manifold. (If its like YM2000).

Also this would be a good time to torque down the rocker shaft pedestals, then check the valve clearance. Tightening the head bolts could affect the clearance.

How many head bolts does my 2210 have? I just see 2, are the rest under valve cover

Here's a hint. There not on the side of the head :p Yes! thats why I said your need a 17MM.

Duh, you did say that, sorry about that. The outside ones look like they would be hard to move, could the torque wrench actually click but the bolts not move if they are rusted bad, thinking I should spray them down

Is the gasket for valve cover reusable?

Assuming that is near identical to YM2000, the valve cover gasket is rubber and is re-usable. I put RTV sealer on the cover side of the gasket only, to help fill unevenness and keep it in place while I install it. I don't know if this is needed.

6 bolts? I think. That makes sense for a twin. If the torque wrench won't move them ... good enough.

What are the torque specs for your head bolts? There may be two sizes of bolts requiring two difference values.

The torque value may be misrepresented because the bolt is tight and that is why some loosen it first. If you choose to loosen the bolts first remove the radiator cap to relieve pressure.

I had to spit my chewing gum out and stick my tongue out in order to muster the strength to torque mine, mainly because my body and wrench position were awkward. The threads to the head bolt are down in the block so the lubrication would need to make it all the way through the head.

Anyway, perhaps you should enlist some help by a local person with this. Start asking around town because you may have to remove the rocker arm rails to do this and that will require a valve lash adjustment.

Yep, the wrench is going to click unless you loosen first. But loosen only one and re torque it before moving to the next one.

Your gasket is some kind of rubber material. If it is old it has lost some of its pliableness. If it still protrudes out of the cover a little it would probably re seal. New gasket is not that high though, but I feel impatience here. :D
