I'm starting to use a smartphone, Galaxy S4, more and more for forum reading. I use Tapatalk a great deal on other forums. On this forum, I've just used the web, but it's tedious. So, I tried Frontrunner.

I have for years simply checked on 'new post', and your 'current' button appears to be the same thing....BUT....I pay zero attention to the category the post is in, and on frontrunner, you have that in a line by itself in bold blue. I'd prefer that presented a different way, to get more post in the window.

Have you downloaded the TractorByNet app? It is free and is available on the Google Play Center. It works pretty well.

It's what I have. I misspoke...it's not frontrunner...but forumrunner.

I guess I'm confused. You said you have the TBN app, but then you say forumrunner... Are you saying you have tried the actual TractorByNet application and the Forumrunner software and don't like either one? The TBN is forumrunner or anything like that.

I went to the Play Store on the android phone, did a search Tractorbynet, and this app came up. And from the labeling this is Forumrunner, specifically for Tracotrbynet. Is there another app that I'm not seeing?

Yes, that is what I was talking about. Just hadn't heard anyone use the term ForumRunner for it (even though that is what it is based on), most just call it the TBN app. I thought you were using the actual forumrunner app. I haven't used the actual forumrunner app - I'm too cheap to pay for Android apps :) so I'm not used to how it is "supposed" to be.

Me too. This app isn't bad, but don't like that bold blue category banner showing on each post.

I get email advice on post to threads I've posted to, just like your reply. If I click on the thread link, it takes me to TBN in the browser. Is there a way for that to be directed to the TBN app instead?

Not sure, post a reply, let me try something. Nevermind, I answered my own question. Since that is just an email with a hyperlink in it, if you could change the association to be the TBN app, it would then want to open all hyperlinks through the TBN app. That wouldn't be pretty :)

Read your post closer....how would you change the association...for just TBN links?

I use the app and have no problems with it .

Sent from my iPhone 5 using TractorByNet

Fordman ... with the iphone it may be different. Do you have the bold blue line for the catagory the thread is from? If you get an email from the forum of a post that you subscribed to....will the link in the email take you to a browser. ..or the TBN app?

What I'm saying, since it is just an email with a hyperlink, I don't think you are going to be able to change it. Once you were to re-associate (haven't quite figured out how to do that anyway) a hyperlink to the TBN app anytime you tried to open a hyperlink it would try to open the TBN app instead of a browser.

Yes...understand....BUT....Tapatalk has figured that out. If you click a link to a Tapatalk forum, Android will ask how you want to open the link with the browser or Tapatalk. Once the choice is made it's not asked again. Sooo....I clear defaults hoping Forumrunner would do the same, it does not. That is how your re-associate.

Just hoping it was something I was missing, but appears that function is simply not there.
