BX22
In preparation for the snow, my BX22 now has a nice wind/snow shield cab for snowblowing. Sears has these on sale (I think on closeout) for $ 119.00. Despite some concern, adapting it to the BX was no problem. I drilled a couple of holes in the side flange of the floor pan to mount the support tubes. The spacing was near perfect. The velcro closure arount the hood doesn't close, but the fit is tight enough to do the job. The rear end of the side flaps is designed to hook over some clamp on brackets. The eyelets ended up at the grasp handles, so a couple of short bungies will do nicely to hold the sides closed. The shape also nicely accomodated the control joystick frame. The back is open, but the idea is to keep the blowing snow off my face, so it should work well for that. The only downside is that the name on it is not Kubota.

Very neat, Paul! Only $119, eh? Makes me start thinking, which my wife won't like! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Let's hope we actually get some snow this year.. otherwise you'll end up doing what I did last year; once a week I would go out and stare at my tractor longingly, and then go back inside, tracking mud into the house. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

clutch

I have an L3600, DT that I use only for snowblowing. I bought it used with 800 hours and it's in great shape and has had the clutch replaced once. One day I pushed in the clutch and it would't come out. I had to lean down and pull the pedal out by hand to get the tractor to move. I did this several times and got the same results. So the clutch was permanently disengaged unless I pulled the pedal out by hand. The next day I started the tractor, pushed in the clutch and tried to put it in gear and couldn't because the clutch was already engaged. So now I have the opposite problem. The clutch is permanently engaged now. Even when I push the clutch in, it won't disengage the clutch. I can force it into gear with no trouble in low range to move the tractor from place to place. The pedal still will not come up by itself. I tried adjusting the clevis rod - no help. The clutch arm that goes into the bell housing is very stiff and hardly moves either way. I've tried spraying WD-40 where the shaft goes into the housing at both sides. I thought the pressure plate might be rusted to the flywheel so I tried all the usual methods to free it, but no help. The tractor moves as normal with no noise or slipping, so I dom't think the clutch is damaged, but the arm just won't disengage the clutch. If I had broken the "woodruff key" washers on the clutch fork, you would think the clutch arm would rotate freely, but it wil hardly budge. The tractor sits outside but I start it up and drive it at least once a week. I've never had a problem until now. I know very little about tractors and I'm at a loss. I'd hate to have to take it in and have it split. Maybe someone out there who has had the same problem can shed some light. Your knowledge and experience would be appreciated. Thank-you

Re: clutch

Vaughan:

Interesting post, but I think that you may do better getting help with your own post on the problem.

Techman, Sorry to invade your post. My intention was to enter it on the board as an original post, but I have been trying for days to do just that. When I click "Post" it prompts me to log in, and when I do the only options I get are to check messages and to send a "PM" (private message), then it provides a space to type in your message. Under member control panel there's nothing there to get me to the right place, either. I even sent a PM to "Administrator", for help(I assume that's an e-mail) three times and never got an answer. The general instructions don't really tell you how to get there, either. It's kind of a mystery to me. Can you tell me what the trick is? Thanks, and again, I'm sorry.

Re: post

Vaughn,

Log in when you first enter TBN (front page) then go to Kubota owning/operating. You should see the Post icon, click on that and enter your post. You can cut and paste from and existing post by selecting edit post icon.

Good Luck
