Hello all, I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been reading on here for the last week and I need some input from other Kubota dealers. I'm looking for a 2920. I have a local Kubota dealer in my town and I have another Kubota dealer 22 miles away. I know my local dealer well and I know all the mechanics but their quote I feel is high and I've found cheaper quotes at another dealer and they don't believe me. Can someone please give me some insight as to if these prices are high or could I do better at this place in Somerset Ky (Barlows).

local dealer
B2920 R4, loader valve with 60"MMM $16,200, FEL adds $3200 plus tax.

dealer 22 miles away, same tractor, same equipment, $15,000.

My local dealer says that this other dealer has a bunch of kids setting their tractors up and they do alot of repair work on them. I'm torn on what to do as 1200 bucks still is 1200 bucks. Would Barlow's be any cheaper? I found their website but it says name your price, can you get a price from them as reference? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Whatever you do give Brady a call and ask him for a price. As for the "kids setting up", blah, blah ,blah....yeah, that might be true but I generally chalk such comments up to a dealer defending his price/margin. As for the price, my info is now getting old, but I bought that tractor last April ('10) and got prices from 3 dealers. The best I got (and what I paid) for the stuff you mention (tractor/FEL/60" MMM/R4): $17,650....my invoice says that $2800 of that was for the FEL. Like I said, that was 11 months ago.

My advice is, get a couple other quotes. Sounds like your local dealer is making up stories to make you think you will have problems if you buy at the other dealer. To me, $1200 is REAL money. I would buy elsewhere (relatively locally) over less than that. There definitely can be substantially different prices by region. As an example, don't necessarily assume that I price I was quoted here in New England will be within a couple hundred of a quote you recieved in In.

Agree strongly with the above posters.

I don't appreciate one salesman bad mouthing another dealer to justify his higher price. Absolutely get a quote from Barlows. You aren't very far from them, in the big scheme anyhow. Don't over pay for your tractor. They are expensive enough.

Agreed. You should get another quote from Barlow's. As for your local dealer, I don't like when they make comments like that about other dealers, it usually tells you something about the dealer making the statement.

My price for same tractor was $17,500 and included a ballast box ($200), Local dealer.

The $15,000 price must be for just the tractor and mmm, list price is about $21,000.

I call at least 5 to 7 dealers, in state and out, every time I go purchase/trade for a tractor. Get a REAL understanding of what that machine is worth. If it comes down to those two dealers you mention here and the machines are truly equipped identically then personally for that amount of distance I would go for the lesser amount. My threshold personally would be for the other dealer to lower his price to around 2 to 4 hundred above the other but that decision is truly up to you. Getting a live quote from Barlow's as is stated previously will give you a good read on what is really going on and gives you more options and nothing wrong with having options.

22 miles ain't that far. And 1200 bucks is a lot of money. If "the kids" thing bothers you, ask to have a look around his shop.

I only had 2 local Kubota dealers, and they were within $100.00 of each other on the same tractor, but only one had it in stock and free delivery.

Let me tell you my story about quotes, here in Ontario: looking for a L3800 with a loader so, I received so far two quotes from two dealers at 30 miles away each other, one gave me 22K and other 24K, also I checked down south at our neighbors in US so the quote was 18K. What do you think about this? For me doesn't make sense.:confused2:

all price quates will very from 1 dealer to another,an some dealers will give you high quates.an others will give you their lowest quate.example my dealer gave me a bottom price of $26000,another dealers price was $27,250 3rd dealer gave me a price of $28,000.the 3rd dealer also said the tractor wouldnt do wjat i wanted it to.an that i needed a bigger tractor.my dealer took the time to prove it would do what i needed.so i made him a cash offer $2000 less than his price an he took it.
