I ordered a HF hydraulic splitter about 2 weeks ago which is on backorder.

Highbeam:

The 2.5 cords you have split will last a long time, maybe even until next winter.

Do yourself a favor and retire that accident waiting to happen until your hydraulic splitter comes in.

I bet it would be even faster & more fun to split logs by drilling holes in them & inserting an explosive. Might be safer too.

The first video that MrJimi posted. I think I've seen that guy on MTV before. I think he's one of the guys from ZZTop.
Not sure how long he's been using it, but it appears that he has all his hands and fingers.

The thing he's got going is the drive roller is kinda loose on the main flywheel, so if something binds up it slips - gives the old dude a chance to make things right. Aside from having a kid to help, he can do almost everything standing upright, so he doesn't get tired so fast. I like it, kinda big though.

I have one of those things in the barn, but I have never used it....

I wonder if you could put it on a hyrdraulic motor and mount it either in a skidsteer or a mini excavator and run the unicorn into logs while you are safely away from it...could you back into a log mounted like that and split the log lenght wood and then buck the already split log into firewood lenght?

I have one just yours Highbeam. Do you want it for parts. After the last time I used it and the log stop broke spinning the piece to be split like a propeller and almost breaking both my arms, I had a choice to get a divorce, or a hydralic splitter. I'm still married!

I've been looking for one of those, if Highbeam don't want it, how heavy is it, is it shippable?
