I have a 3rd SCV Kit coming for my 4210 & am a bit confused when I read the operating manual. This will be in preparation for a Snowblower next year & my Logsplitter that I currently have. The manual states that when I move the lever forward one port is energized and when I move the lever back, the other port is energized as well, full forward is float. Does this mean that I would be able to rotate the chute in one position & the deflector in the other position thus not needing to add another valve bank to perform these operations? Also my splitter has it's own valve bank & I'm curious if this will work if I have the lever in the float or would I need to have a specific port energized? Thanks for your help.

I've been watching this post to see if you get the answer your looking for, since I'm not the most qualified to help you even though I just did a 3rd scv install on my 4310 I wasn't gonna reply.

You should ask this question in the hydraulics forum, you'll get more attention there for sure as it's not a totally brand specific question.

This was my thread on the install,

My take on your question is no you wont be able to do both functions on the blower with the 3rd valve, without some type of diverter. That's if they are in fact 2 separate dual action cylinders ( 2 hoses to each cylinder). As far as the splitter, I would like to know the answer to that also, I have a gas powered splitter now but would like to know if I could run it off the tractor if gas engine ever dies. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't use the float though.

Good Luck.

The 3rd SCV kit will operate only ONE DA (dual acting) cylinder, or TWO SA (single acting cylinders) or ONE hydraulic motor for your chute rotation.

So, you will NOT be able to do both function with just the 3rd remote kit. You can use a electric linear actuator for the deflector and use a DA cylinder or motor from your 3rd SCV for the rotation.

To operate your logsplitter, you will have to use a bungee cord or rope to hold the 3rd SCV lever in the open position, putting it the float detent will NOT work.

Thanks Tom & Kenny & good to hear from you again.
I was hoping to not add a valve bank of course.
I might look at TnT down the road as well so not sure what I'll do at this point.
I'll get the 3rd SCV installed first
Cheers
Eric

Sorry I meant John not Tom :)

The log splitter could be operated off the power beyond, if you have that option (or it can be added). You should have a valve on the splitter anyway to operate it from it's location. The rest should be able to operate at J.D.'s rediculasly overpriced electric diverter valve. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That is not an option on the 4x00 series machines.

I am currently powering the splitter through the power beyond but of course when I do this I lose my 3ph & is nice to drop the splitter for the big pieces which I currently don't have the option to do. Well, I should've said I can drop the splitter but can't bring it back up. I'm with Kenny, I'm not aware of any JD electric diverter being available for my series. Thanks, Eric

Those of us who make intensive use of a rear blower to load snow onto trucks and trailers tend to think the diverter is worth its weight in gold, or at least silver ;)

Diverter allows spreading the load evenly with little effort (but requires a little practice), often cuts work time in half, allows truck driver to stay in his vehicle instead of having to spread the load with a shovel while attempting to avoid poorly -or maliciously- aimed snow discharge and cussing at tractor operator who of course always remains snug in his cab

There a solution for this...you must have the original PB kit. The newer version of the kit provides 2 returns, 1 like you have that bypasses the 3PH and goes directly to the tank, and another on that goes into the 3PH to allow it to work.

If you look in JDParts, you will see the "old" and "new" kit listed. Below is a picture of the "new" setup.
