Ballast Rear Ballast

Heck they pour concrete in the colds of winter also they spray curing concrete to make it harder.
They also take down the concrete forms 24 hours later.
You should be fine.

Yep. It's a chemical reaction. Once it starts you can't stop it. Your particular curing time will be more dependent on thickness rather than temp. The moisture has to come out. Very limited exposed area if you used a barrel or some other metal container??

Have been looking at various ballast options and home made ballast blocks and barrels. My little JD750 certainly needs some weight on the rear end to make the loader usable and still be able to steer. My initial though was to make a concrete weight or use bar bell weights on bar on the lower three point attach. My current thinking is to purchase a usable implement that can do double duty, a box scraper with some added weight bolted on or rear scoop with dump. The rear scoop looks to be the cheapest and looks to be heavier than a box scraper and it is simple to add weight to if needed, simply fill it with dirt or rocks.

Thoughts?

Cheapest ballast you can make here. Barrel of concrete with a drawbar through it. I used to use the tiller as ballast but didn't like the idea of having a $2,000 implement on all the time when going through the woods and possibly hitting a tree with it 20190619_221848.jpeg
