Rear Blade Rear Blade Confusion vs. Kubota M7060 71 hp.

I'm in the same dilemma. I'm in the market for a real good rear blade to match up well with my M7060. I already have a good 1400 lb hydraulic box blade and with top N tilt I currently have, I've been learning how to use it at a faster rate than if I didn't have TnT.

I've never used a rear blade, so I am definitely weary of spending 5 to 6 grand for one. I hear the learning curve is longer??

I have my eye on a hydraulic adjustable GradeMax LPGS for the ease of use.

I am considering that option too. That is a good looking unit. Have you priced one? They are located in Ms. so shipping could be a deal killer.

Yes I've been emailing Rick Seal back and forth for a few weeks. For the one pictured above with hydraulic adjustable blade angle, and a hydraulic rear blade is $5,425 shipped to my door. The 84" width weighs I think around 12 or 1300 pounds. They can build it and have it shipped out in 2 weeks. It is one expensive LPGS, I was comparing this one to the Road Boss MtViewRanch likes so much. for $1,000 more you can get everything hydraulic with a few more options, which led me to this GradeMax.

$3000 kijiji blade sounds like the deal.

If the tractor will pick it up you should be good. Not like you have to lift the blade and also carry a load on it.

I'd think the weight of the blade would be a help in doing dirt work since no 3pt down pressure.

NS Canada - I have a 2009 Kubota M6040 with grapple and Rhino 950 - 8 foot rear blade. The tractor tips the ADM grain scales at 10,100#. My owners manual says for rear blade - 72" and 1000# max. I don't think you could by a rear blade with those specs - unless it was made of 1" steel throughout.

So - I also have a Land Pride blade - RB3596 @ 565#. The lighter LP blade was used for years to clear the winter snow off my mile long driveway. It did a fantastic job of that. It was, however, simply too light for summer maintenance when my wet springtime driveway would dry and turn to concrete.

That's why I bought the Rhino 950. Its 96" and weighs 1000#. Does a fantastic job of driveway maintenance in the summer.View attachment 538662 I have only one rear hydraulic and it controls my Fit Rite hydraulic top link. I've scalped some pretty tough stuff going down the driveway. However, I can tell - if I ever got a "blade full" - I'd have all four wheels spinning.

No one has brought this up but the rbt40 blade does does not have a rear wheel you can add the models below it and one above have factory rear gauge wheels that bolt to it

This is right out of the M7060 brochure. "Lift capacity at 24" behind lift point. 3307 lbs. (1500 kg.)" Do you have something saying otherwise? Question is for the OP.

KWenting: You are correct "Lift capacity at 24 inches" is 3307lbs (1500 kgs); I stand corrected. I spent some time with the Kubota Rep. today who tells me the Land Pride RBT 45-108 rear blade; retails for $4600.00 Can. plus taxes (Manual tilt & offset, hydraulic Angle). The LP RBT-108 blade weights approx. 1166 lbs.

The Woods RB990 rear blade weighs Approx. 1483 lbs. depending on access/attachments. The RB-990 retails for $6000.00 Can. plus taxes (Canadians; pay about $1.25 for every one dollar American).

The Kubota Rep. tells me Kubota has merge with Land Pride, and Kubota dealers can now offer better pricing than the competition. Just some food for thought as it is almost impossible to get an online price for these units.

The other thing the Rep. told me; is, the lifting cap. of the M7060 tractor 3 point hitch is more than twice the weight of the RB996 Woods blade. So my M 7060 machine will handle the weight of the blade easily. He gave the example of the weight of a 3 point backhoe attachment. He also said the max. GVW. of a tractor pulling a Land Pride RBT 45-108 blade; should not exceed 9500 lbs. My tractor weights about 9500 lbs. [when adding the M-21 loader, loaded tires, cast rims]. He did mention (as did Brian) that my machine would never be able to "fully utilized the full capabilities of the RB990 blade". As a positive (as mentioned by other commenters) he said the weight and horse power of my machine will never hurt the blade either.

The Kubota Rep. also stated with the Woods Rb 990 blade only weighing about 313 pounds more than the Land pride RBT 45 -108 blade. With the width of both blades both being the same; there should be little to no difference in working both blades on my machine. Other than the LP-990 blade is a much heavier built/ constructed unit: main difference it has a "Dozer type blade- construction" and Industrial Const.

Where the Land Pride blade may be 8 years old: it was only used 3 or 4 times by the Snowmobile Club. Where the blade has just sat in a construction yard; all the pins; bushing, controls and cutting blade are like new (paint faded and a few rust chips). The blade was stored with the Hydraulic piston in the in position.

Inclosing; I just want to say this Web site and the information/ advice I received on from contributors on this site is greatly appreciated. The site gave me a lot of insight regarding: tractor horse power vs. tractor weight vs. 3 point hitch const. vs. hitch lifting cap. vs. rear end to gear ratios, vs. blade const. weight, size and function.

Talking to the Kubota Rep. today, I had answers to questions: he couldn't answer. At the end of the day, he agreed the right blade for me was that second hand LP 990 blade; which I was able to get for $2800 Canadian out the door. I not only saved thousands; but, I am more informed and have less "Rear Blade Confusion" about my M7060 Tractor. So thank-you... to all who contributed: Terry.

Just as an FYI for others as well as a question for Kubota-Land Pride. When I bought my RBT45108 it was-is rated for a 15,000lb GVW machine. I have the brochure showing that and was the deciding factor for me making the purchase.

Now for some unknown reasoning they have the RBT35, RBT40 & RBT45 series all rated at 9500lbs. If anyone that knows anything about structural engineering was to look at these blades, it is as clear as night and day that these blade systems are not even close to being built to the same strength. I don't know of any cat 1-2 tractors having the same capabilities as any cat 2-3 machines which is what the 45 series blades are built for.

I believe that it is simply an error on Land Prides part that has never been pointed out to them. For a dealer to pass along that 3 different levels of an implement all have the same capabilities shows what they don't know or understand. Sad, :( but seems to be very common.

I was at the CalAgExpo farm show yesterday and got a chance to see the LandPride RBT4596 up close in person. It is very well built, and answered my questions. I talked to the rep at the show, as MtnViewRanch mentioned it will be borderline for the M7060, but should still work well and do what we need. They also had one size below, the RBT40, but it didn't look near as strong as the RBT45, and it seemed like an M7060 tractor could hurt it.. So with that said I think the heavier RBT45 is a good match considering the build on the RBT40.

I want it. LOL

I use an old Super Rhino Utility blade inherrited from my father. It is rated for a 120 HP tractor. It specs out at 760# at 8 feet with a 3" kingpin. It was a good match for my 52HP Workmaster. I feel it's a good match for my newly acquired t4.75. I estimate that if it was equipped with hydraulics it would be around 1000# or so. It is a very good blade.

Personally, I would go with the used one. Looks like a great deal at 3K. Your tractor will be a great match.
