I decided to modify my Befco rear blade to make it better for pushing snow. First I added a 1-inch thick rubber soft edge. Then a 2" by 10" cylinder to add power angle. Finally, I made a plate the bolts to the top of the blade. This extends the height of the blade to 18" The heavy snow that we got last weekend gave me a chance to try everything out. Overall, everything worked great. My productivity is up at least 50%. Here are some pics:

thanks for the pic's- been thinking about the power angle idea myself- interesting way you did it. I have some salvaged cylinders from the outdrive of a boat. I just need to come up with a valve.

Brant,
Nice job, you just gave me the incentive to modify my blade as well. Not only with the rubber cutting edge, but the power angle as well. Only thing is this will lead to adding some more remotes.

The cylinder came from Surplus Center. I believe it is Chief brand and nothing fancy.

Great post.

Where did you get the rubber at?

Another thing that works well is end plates. They help keep the snow moving instead of falling off the sides.
