Rear Blade Rear blade

I'm looking for a rear blade which would be compatable with John Deere's I-match hitch system. Obviously, Frontier makes one, but are there any others which are not quite so pricey? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

What is the price you are trying to beat on the Frontier?

Are you wanting the same quality as the Frontier? and how much cheaper in quality and/or price are you interested in going? Help us out a bit.

If the rear blade you get doesn't match the I-match, you can get a welder to make it fit. When I updated my older Deere blade, it only cost me a bit more than $200, but it now fits the I-match and I am happy with it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I got a 5' Frontier blade when I bought my tractor, the quality is outstanding. Not sure exactly what I paid but I think about $300.00 was the cost. Not a bad price cosidering the paint and overall quality of the blade. Frontier implements are made by Woods, and they have been around a long time.

What blade are you looking at and how much $$$ do they want for it? What are you going to use it for?

I asked my dealer about implements which were compatible with the I-Match, he said only the Frontier implements are compatible.

I still waiting for my blade to come in, they were out of the Frontier blades /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifso they gave me a loaner. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Any Cat 1 spec implement is I-Match compatible. For instance, Midwest Equipment has many JD dealers selling the Midwest implements with I-Match quick hitches. They even sell them in JD green. A quick search on Cat 1 quick hitches will yield several discussions on this as well.

I have a WOODS RB 60 for my tractor. Not sure how the price compares with Frontier but I have used the devil out of it with no problems. It works just fine with the JD quck hitch /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the great responses; this is a great site! I have a 6" Frontier finish mower and the I-Match works great with that. The King Cutter was about $300 and I don't have my prices with me but I thought the Frontier was around $500. I'm also debating 6 or 7 foot. Usage would be for snow removal and occassional grade of 200 ft gravel/stone driveway.

I would get the 7'. Don't forget when you angle it you have much less width. I have a 7' blade and wish I had a bigger one.

I would also go with the bigger blade. My tractor is smaller so I was looking at 5' and 6' blades, dealer sort of led me toward the 5'. If I had it to do over I would get the 6' instead and if I remember right there wasn't that much difference in price and he had them both in stock. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
