Hello all, I've been looking, but no luck finding, a way to attach a 60'' to 72'' wide bucket to the rear of my MF 245 (42 HP).

I've got an old MF 30'' scoop, but I'm thinking a larger bucket would help in moveing road base for a new path over the gumbo. I'm thinking about 15 to 20 yds spread about 1300 feet @ a depth of 3'' - 4'.

Is there a source of adapters that allow a front loader bucket to fit onto a 3-pt rear? I've seen an adapter going the other way (3-pt to Bob Cat) on ebay.

TIA to a great forum, alan

both Bradco and ATI have 3 point to quick attach plates that will allow you to do that. Have the Bradco cat 2 plate for attaching the pallet forks but can also be used to mount a bucket. You will also need a top tilt cylinder by the way to be able to mount it.

YIPES!
I don't even want to know what that stuff costs. I guess it's back to the used implements yard for a bucket, and have the shoppers weld up something for the lift arms.

The hydraulic top link is going to be the $$$ imperitive.

Thanks for the tips though, alan

Bring a 12 pack to your budy that has a cutting torch and a welder and he can fit you up with any mounts you need. Has worked for me for years. Mike

I agree. Not to hard to weld some plate up with lower link pins on it.. same for a toplink bracket. ( getting a hyd toplink will be the 'ticket' though.

A trip mechanism might not be too bad if patterned after the scoop style.. still a 5' bucket of materil is gonna be a hard 'trip' dump..

Thanks guys. Nice lookin' rig Soundguy!-- that roof looks like a good place to mount a rear view mirror. Hmmm.

I've been looking at the Roll-A-Cone 3-pt A-frame and outrigger link pin brackets that I used to build up a 12' scarrifier/spike-harrow combo on a 2-1/4'' diamond bar. The brackets and shank holders bolt together kind of like a big Tinker-Toy. Very flexible.

It occurred to me that all I have to do is drill the bucket and bolt some of these brackets, with extra support plates (like large washers) -- two for the pins and one top center for the top link.

Got to get to work on that hydraulic toplink. I sure hope the old remote valves are working OK.
