Well sorry, didnt know it would offend you so much. What are you a dealer? I got the impression you were some sort of mobile mechanic.

Back to the original post, I think if you can, finding an aftermarket valve is just as good, at least it has worked good in my situation and was by far cheaper.

What I do for a living has little bearing on your post, but I have worked for the same New Holland dealer for most of the last 11 years. The dealership has been selling Ford and now New Holland tractors and implements for over 35 years. Currently I spend one day per week behind the parts counter and the balance as a service technician, primarily working out of a well-equipped service truck working at customer's locations. I am one of several dealer personnel that post regularly here attempting to help owners work through problems and questions they are having with/about their equipment. I don't know everything, nor do I pretend to. We help staff the virtual free advise counter, as it were. Oddly enough, I have responded to posts here by customers of my dealership whom I have not yet met, or only spoken with on the phone. Your apology is accepted.

I agree. Rick has been a great help on this forum. There was another employee from a dealer in Saco, Maine - Scamman Tractors - who used to participate. Spencer200 has not posted since Dec, 2005. I actually bought the first remote kit from him.

Everyone on this forum is here to help anyone that takes the time to ask. Dealers across the country vary in customer service. My CNH dealer has been great. If he was not I would move to another dealer. A general quote about "dealers" should not have been said. We all learn by our mistakes and hind sight is 20/20.

I guess i have been lucky with most of the dealers i have worked with on Ford NewHolland tractors were there to help no matter what i was on fixing my tractors . They always would talk me through my project or let me know when i was over my head and then let them fix it.But i have to say if i can fix it my self that is what is going to happen . For me NH stands behind there product alot better than my auto dealer . My first remote on my 2002 tc40 was a bargin at 250.00. On my 55 it was in the deal i made shure of that. I priced a second remote for the tc55 there was a valve body and finish kit sold seperate i think it was around 500.00 or a little more. It sounds like that was a deal i might need to reprice and buy the second one.

i cannot get any dealer so far to budge on their pricing they're all the same and say the manufacturer is doing the pricing.. i guess they've gone to a model like deere and steinway etc with their pricing. they all must hold to their pricing or loose their dealership? i bought new from corriher and they mysteriously dont have a new holland dealership anymore but they had the best pricing for the consumer and they made enough to feed their families for 50 years.. and kept me happy i called messick's sales dept and got the same pricing as well... fyi they show lower pricing on the case remotes do they have a 'red' knob as the only difference?

i just ordered the 1st remote for $528 the newest pricing wholegoods departments are quoting (dealers are NOW quoting this for the 1st and 2nd remotes) and i ordered the 2nd remote from Messick's for i think $328.19 + about $25 shipping, total damage for 1st & 2nd rear remote kits totaling about $881. best i can get so i bit the bullet...

this is funny, but the nh dealer just called me sayingthe price of the 'first' remote went UP to like 589 (and won't honor the price of 529 he sold it to me for YESTERDAY) he said the second remote went down from 529 to 369 (but i already bought that through messick's for only 328).. .so now i'm looking for a reputable dealer to honor the 529 for the first remote, topeka quoted me that some i'm calling them now... i'll see what happens...

ordered the first remote for 528 from bates (coldwater, mi).. hopefully they won't call back.. i get the impression they order/install a lot as he quoted the price off the top of his head...

got the first remote from bates in michigan today, fast shipping.. everything is thrown in the box... looking at the parts, i can't believe it was $571.68. if i can get it made in china it would be about $75 i bet!!!..

I bought the remotes for my TC40D 2-3 years ago from the Case dealer. Everything fit and they had black knobs on them.

you're right andy, they're the same kit numbers Case/NH so they're the same... not sure which site i saw different quotes.. probably my eyes seeing things... put the remotes on yesterday very easy. a 2x4 helps lever the tire up to get it back on the tractor. a line wrench (7/8") only fits on the smaller elbow fitting (rear facing) line nut so put the front line nuts on first,second, third remote, in that order, then rear facing 1,2,3 order makes it as easy as it gets... i stripped out the welded nut on the tube clamp bracket so common sense would have told me not to impact drive such a small screw, no biggie, can always bolt it on.. cheers....

i think i need to put a tee on the power beyond port that i swapped out for my front remote (non nh kit) to work my BH since i can't use the rear remotes .
