Any ideas what a rear work light kit would cost for my L3400DT? Also:

1. Does the light kit require a beefier alternator than the one that came with my tractor?

2. I assume the light(s) mount on my ROPS. Are they QA, or permanent?

Thanks in advance for tolerating (and hopefully curing) such ignorance. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think it is already wired for it. Look under the rear fenders there shoud be a couple of wires that are hot when the key is on. There is a hole in the fender there also. I don't have a light mounted yet, but plan to add one I bought at Walmart along with a switch. Just haven't had the time. The hole seems like a natural place to add it, not sure where the switch will go. I may make another hole beside it and mount the switch there.

As has already been said. You should have a wire under the seat or fender for the work light. I bought my light at TSC. There was a hole in rear fender sheet metal to mount the light. It is permanent and has it's own switch in the light housing. See attached picture.

Thanks guys. I'll look for that. Any particular size (wattage) light that I should aim for, so as not to strain the alternator?

Does anyone know if a B3030 is similarly pre-wired for rear work light(s)? Thanks

Kubota makes lights (I believe 35w) and mounting brackets with U bolts bent to go around the ROPS. Sorry, I don't have the part no's . The fit very well but two lights and brackets are about $180 to buy and are easy to install.

I have one of these on my BX22. It's been there 4 years and has been abused - still going strong!

OK, I checked it out this morning. In each fender, there is a small hole slightly in front of where the flasher is mounted. The wiring underneath consists of a typical harness running to the flasher, but also has two wires that dead-end. One is black, the other yellow. I assume these are the "hot" ones referred to.

Looks like it should be a simple operation to wire up and attach. I'd like to put lights on both sides. Is that what was intended? Will the alternator handle it?

Sure is pre-wired. The wires are tucked up TIGHT under the right rear flasher light( right side aft looking fwd) You'll find the grn wire with a ring terminal and the hot wire already has a quick disconnect crimped on it.
