jinma 224
Hello there

I'm from Belgium. Since I got my jinma, I regulary read the info on TBN. Here in Europe, there is no such site.

I own a Jinma 224 (model 2005) with fel and backhoe. The backhoe is the subframe mounted type JW-03.
Is it possible to change it into a 3point hitch type? Are there pictures from such a rebuild?
Can my jinma lift the weight of the backhoe without blowing any O-rings?
I would like to change it, because now it's so much work to take it off and than put it back on again.
Thanks very much for any information and pictures!!!

3 pt hitch backhoes put tremendous stress on the hitch, and due to the many problems (like breaking the tractors in half!) that owners had with them, most backhoes are now subframe mounted. I would suggest that you leave your backhoe as a subframe unit. It may take some time to get used to mounting and dismounting, but you'll get better with practice.

If I had a 3pt hitch backhoe, I would be buying some steel to make a subframe for it. No way would I do the reverse, as I have seen some horror stories about them breaking tractors without a subframe.

I am currently building backhoe and chose to make a sub frame for it, instead of three point mounting,

I have a Cub Cadet tractor with a sub frame mounted backhoe. At first, it would take me upwards of an hour to mount it, about 30-45 mins to take it off. Now that I've had it for a few years, I can mount it in about 15 mins, and dismount in 5-10. As with anything, practice really helps. I've also learned that it is real important, at least for my application, to make sure the tractor and hoe are level when taking the hoe off. It makes mounting it back on much easier. I don't have a flat, paved place to dismount the hoe, so I take a few extra minutes to make sure it is blocked level. It is time well spent.

Hello neighbor down south, this is Holland speaking ;)

I rebuilt a loader and made a subframe for it, friends and family wondered if i wanted to turn our little tractor into a giant payloader... But i've just seen too many pictures of "articulated tractors" that left the factory without that articulation, and decided that this wouldnt happen to me ;)

When at work, we mount load cranes to trucks, we have to dig through several chapters of bodybuilders guidelines, if you dont follow these, the manufacturers withdraws its warranty on the truck.

The strains that truck mounted cranes, or tractor mounted backhoes put on a tractor or truck frame due to the load swinging over the side, are tremendous.
I would rather build a quick attachment between backhoe and subframe, than to have it tearing up the 3pt.

I think it will lift the backhoe on the 3pt with ease, but lifting it, is just a small part of the task:
My guess is that if you convert it to 3pt, it wont take a year before the main connecting shaft, inside the lift cover on top of the rear axle, will bend or break due to the torsion of the backhoe, pulling 1 lift arm up and pushing the other down, when you swing a full bucket over the side.
With 3.2 meter mower conditioners and smaller farm tractors (70 hp) the connecting shaft is already giving problems on most tractors. Let alone when mounting a backhoe to a light duty garden tractor...
