This is just for the new BX-50 series, not the old BX's. I read the bullitin the other day and as I recall the change is just swapping out some bolts to ones with finer thread. Why, I don't know.

A little lock-tite would fix the problem too.

I don't know the specifics about switching to the finer thread... But it does seem reasonable from something I'd seen or read elsewhere.

My BX24 is in the shop right now getting the recall looked at along with fixing rear axle seal for the second time. Putting tube in tire that won't stay up and mower switch that keeps the tractor from running even when disengaged. I was very happy with the machine, but am starting to get discouraged

When I first got this letter back in July, I called my dealer in Oregon (I'm in WA), he said they were just getting the information in and was going to be contacting people about a month later when they get more details and install a couple on their stock. Also, they would be sending me the kit instead of coming out to install it (border thing).

OK, so now it's Late October, and I give a call again to see "where they are". "Oh, we're going to make one trip to our WA customers and do them all at one time. Expect a call in the next week or two".

So, we're in the third week of November...I'm loosing faith of the great service they expressed to me when I bought earlier in the year.

I know this is just a bolt on thing and maybe one hole needs to be drilled. Pretty simple.

Is there others that haven't had this completed? Or is it just me? I'm thinking of walking in and getting the parts from them to do it myself.

A fine thread bolt has better torque holding ability. You are correct that some Loctite might also help the situation. Dusty

If the tire keeps loosing air, it could be the bead on the rim that is the problem. Kubota paints the rims and also paints the inside edge of the rim. This creates a smooth surface that can cause the tires to loose air for no apparent reason. The solution is to dismount the tire and sand the painted wheel bead edge till it is rough. After that, there are no more leaks.

. We can thank those "litegious" people who love to bring lawsuits against corporations due to their own stupiidity for all of these so called "safeguards" that KUBOTA and other tractor companies have had to install as a result.[/QUOTE said:
You guys have only got yourselves to blame. Thats what you get for buying a NEW tractor. Now if you'd just bought a well 'run in' Kubota like mine you'd find that all that annoying junk got broken, disconnected, or thrown out long ago. Safety switches and lights?.. bah..who needs 'em. Brakes?.. what a luxury! But ALL the important (and REALLY expensive) stuff still works.

As an owner of an "older" BX series tractor I must say that I've had very little trouble. The sum total of warrantable problems is the infamous air cleaner bracket and the dash panel coming loose. Both were fixed easily and didn't cause any significant down-time.

Some of the issues being raised with the newer 50-series BX's are concerning but should probably be put proper perspective. It sounds like most of them are simply new model "bugs." Buyer beware.

Don't get me wrong though... Kubota should think long and hard about trying to save a penny through cheap design or rushing a new model to market before it has been thoroughly tested. And, Kubota has absolutely no excuse for not jumping all over these problems at the first sign of trouble.

I'll echo others' comments about tarnishing a good reputation. After all, companies like GM used to have a good rep. Now, the company is run by accountants.

I just ordered a collection system and front blade and I was told by my dealer that Kubota put a "stop sale" on the BX24's because of a brake problem. Here's another recall waiting to surface.
