In South Carolina a Red Dot used to signify a liquor store. I guess they still do, haven't noticed one in years.

I’ve got a Redmax blower and string trimmer but not a chainsaw. I’d say they’re as good as anything.

I have ran Jonsered for years. If they have not changed anything but the name to Red Max I would highly recommend them.

May 2009 RedMax operations in North America are relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina (which is in the USA in my Country)..
Redmax years ago was Zenoah made chainsaws. Then Husky bought Zenoah for their strato technology.
The redmax name chainsaws is now on the jonsered branded saws that are still all made by husky today.
Look at the redmax 9000 that is same as jred 2188 which is a husky 390. All made in Sweden husky plant.
RM 3500 is a Zenoah made saw that was made in Japan, but maybe China now days.

I just bought a comparable Jonsered to what you are looking at off of ebay. Like I menetioned earlier I have had great luck with them but only had my 670 Champ as I had sold a Jonsered 49. Where I am now I do not need the 670 and may sell it. Brother pointed me to the Jonsered CS2240 on ebay and it was priced right and works great.

Why so cheap?
The ebay sale ad states “stamped with an R”. Maybe refurbished?

They are supposedly refurbished. The one I got had never had gas in it. Fueled it up and have used it multiple times with no issues. My brother has had the same experience. I would not be afraid to buy another one and have thought about it just to have another saw if I sell my 570.

Ahhh ok. Might look into this. I mainly use my saw for land clearing/maintenance and occasional firewood. They want $120 for the part for my Husky, and that is before labor and before fixing the no idle issue.

Just looked and mine has no R stamp on it that I can find. Would think it would be by the serial number. Been burning brush today and using it some.

You are correct, there is an R stamped on the bottom of the tank. The saw looked brand new but was not in original box. Both are fine by me for the price. I have never had to take any of my Jonsereds in for service so hopefully my luck is the same with this one.
