Man have I helped unload a much much heavier cutter like that and we did the same...got away so if something failed we were clear. 38 years later still did not like it.

Saw a person the other day hauling a tractor and cutter that was too long for his trailer (much like this trailer) with the wheel on the cutter. He had removed the height bolt on the trailer wheel allowing him to flip the wheel up cutting the over all length by a couple of feet or so. Tailgate closed.

As to the fire ant..real pain...we had our lawn sprayed this year for $100 per acre and so far no mounds. It has been about 2 months and it amazes me to look at a smooth lawn, sort of looks odd. As professional pest people as the chemical is packaged for commercial size use and I think requires certification.

It does look like good price on mower.

I have to admit to doing this myself. Pulled engines, lifted implements to load onto my 1 ton and trailers, lifted a full sized Lincoln pipeline welder the same way. One time I rebuilt the runners on my old brush hog and used the same tree limb to do the lifting and stablizing while I welded on it. Shade tree mechanics had to have something to pull those engines out with.:D
