There are ways to wire some thermostats to run the fan only. An alternative might be to have a two-speed fan motor that ran at the lower speed when the woodstove was going. Or, you might salvage a blower that you could add to the ductwork under the house, rather than use the one in the furnace.

We run the air handler on our heat pump. The switch is marked auto/fan. When in the fan position, it runs without the heat pump running. It will still cycle the heat pump compressor if the temp falls below the thermostat setting.

On another note, here's some REAL birddogs. :D Note the postion of the birds head in the first picture. Look high center in the second. The third is jus for showing off. They'll hold on point until released with a couple of taps on the hinnie. I love all bird dogs. Mark

My walls get nice and hot and store the heat when the stove goes out at night.
The walls are still warm in the morning:)

I hope those are walls built with that in mind, ie heat storage material set away from combustibles. There is a reason for setbacks from woodstoves.:laughing:

The mess it makes pales in comparison to what 3 dogs can do in a night with their toys HA

 try six dogs and all of them have a squeeky toy with that stuffing .. :confused2: one lab.. five german wire haired pointers..

Well Guys it was almost a year ago when I posted about installing a wood stove as a matter of fact it was Christmas morning I decided and wrote my first post. Well the stove is in and I am learning to burn it and I do not hear the furnace run and that is a wonderful thing.
With the damper all the way shut once the chimney is hot I can burn stove
with the door open. Getting a stove made for 2000sq feet as to one that was made to heat 1500sq feet I am very happy with. Depending on the conditions after 12 hours I still have coals and just stir them around and I have a fire in about 2 minutes. I love this pacific energy stove. I just bought a cast iron dutch oven and will attempt cooking on my new wood stove.
Even with all the work from the wood I never get tired of seeing the fire being able to walk over and warm myself. I can see the stove from the kitchen, living room and dining rooms as they are all one big room. I loved having coffee in the morning and looking at the fire and having a drink at night and looking at the fire.

I guys I have finally found how I will do wood next year. Using water totes
will stack wood in the tote and when I need more wood on the deck will place tote on deck. Easy to cover and stack in will great way to handle wood and the wood that is not the shed I will stack in tote and store under the over hang of my barn to keep dry. I can get at least 4 of these on my deck and once wood is cut not handle it again until it goes in the stove!
