congrats on figuring out your outlets are switched. :D I was just at my mother's condo, after living there a year and a half she finally complained that the top half of all her outlets didn't work.

Oh, and please don't tell the safety police I carried a blow torch in my FEL Christmas morning.

Figuring out that ALL the appliance garage outlets are ganged and switched by wall switches was not too terrible much of a challenge since the electricians did it in response to my instructions.

Hopefully the blow torch was running at the time.

I have to ask....

I remove the spout completely from the 5 gallon container and just pour directly into a large funnel. It pours alot quicker so you don't have to hold it up as long.

I take the spout off of the can and stick the hose on the right in the can and pump the fuel out of the can with the red pump on the left..

How do you get photobuck to post smaller pictures so you don't have to scroll side to side and up and down to view the posted picture here on the board???

I have to ask my self what my insurance person would say if told them I was storing 300 gals of fuel inside my shed? The idea is great, but I would have put the thing outside. The again with the price of fuel, you'd have to deal with how to secure it..

I want to move my drum from the enclosed car port to a small meteal storage building out away from all other structures some day.

Tom, In an ideal world we wouldn't need your help. In the mean time you and your brethren are sorely needed.

Isn't there a trade off between good high quality plastic storage containers for diesel and steel ones? I have seen way too many steel fuel containers that leaked. At least plastic doesn't rust out and start leaking while storing fuel. I have used lots of both. I always carried steel jerry cans on the back of my Jeep so that in case of a traffic accident there would be no survivors to sue each other. Not really, I carried them for extended range in the desert but used to wonder how big the fireball would be if some bozo ran into me on the freeway.

I don't store large quantities of fuel indoors and hope to eliminate it soon. I have recently procurred an old refrigerator to use as a flammable storage locker and by removing some shelves can accomodate 5 gal fuel cans as well as the smaller ones for premixed fuel for the collection of 2 stroke engines. Solvents and certain paints and other chemicals will go in there too.

I've used old refgs and freezers for that very thing for over 40 years here.
But I gave the refg away last fall as I need some thing begger now that i have a fuel storage setup so plan on going with a small metal storage building now.
