Alan W.,

I used to work with a gal that was from Hazard county, KY.
She said that you could buy shine in the U.S. Post Office!
I don't think she was kidding either! We've been down to Lake Cumberland State Park a couple of times, real nice around there. And of course the cave tours!

Aaaah, ya'll make me hungry./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Let's see, we have more cottontail rabbits around here this year than we've had in years; anyone for rabbit stew? Never tried possum, but sure have enjoyed coon, bear, deer, moose, caribou, squirrel, and a variety of rabbits and birds. The neighbors behind us are having their annual July 4th picnic and barbecue Saturday, July 1st, this year and they're fattening up a goat to barbecue, along with the briskets and chicken./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

There you go, Gordon. In eastern VA we're pretty big on seafood, especially crabs and oysters, and barbecue is pretty big anywhere in VA.

Mark, when we were in Virginia Beach in '92, we sure found a really good seafood buffet place that had the biggest variety I've seen; ate 3 big plates full just sampling the different stuff and didn't even get to the desserts. And now I can't remember the name of the place. Naturally, it was Captain (something or other), and in the unlikely event that I ever get back to Virginia Beach, I'll sure have to look them up again./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bird I have been there its captian georges if I'm correct that is one of the two best in the va beach area. I lived in Chesapeake for a couple of years.
When I lived in Rock Hall Md they also had a great seafood buffet much less choice but all home made stuff.
Loving life and living large nothing better than a good buffet as long as I done have to move when I finish!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The wife went out the other day crabbing with the kids and caught better than a half bushel of crabs. They were very heavy and oh so good. So I must take back what I said about her cooking she sure can steam the heck out of crabs. Its summer time in DE and crabs, bluefish, rockfish and anything else that comes out of the bays Both the Delaware and the Chesapeake bay.

Come fall let the oysters come on. Nothing better than the oyster feasts that the fire companys have just bring your own shucking knife and go to town./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bird, that sounds like Captain George's. They're quite good, but very expensive these days. The last I heard, they were up to $25 a person for the buffet. That's second-hand info (well, third-hand, now), though, so I'm not absolutely positive it's that much. But, if you can avoid eating breakfast and lunch that day, then slide in late in the afternoon and get yourself completely beached by evening, you could make it worth your money.
