Remember Squeeze Cheese?

I'm going to make a stretch and relate this to tractors and country living through the "good ole days" route.

Does anyone remember squeeze cheese? I'm not talking about the stuff in the pressurized can. I'm talking about the old time stuff that came in a bag that looked like a sausage and had a little nozzle out the side where the cheese squirted out.

Is that stuff still available anywhere?

I have not seen it in years. Used to love it as a kid though. One thing I have always wondered, was that stuff really cheese?

I think it was called "Pasteurized, Processed, Cheese Food Product"

What I'm looking for mostly is the package that it came in. It had that little button nozzle that the cheese came out of. Someone made that, and I'm trying to find out who.

I don't remember that but I do remember when Olio first came out. Now called margerine ( sp) It came in white only and you had to mix the yellow into it in a squeeze bag.

Sure do remember it..made alot of cheese crackers back than..cheese crackers w/Tang.

Isn't that stuff just Velveeta at room temperature inside a plastic tube?

I googled for it; I could not find anything on the stuff from the 70's. There is some new stuff in a squeeze bottle, but I do not know if it is same stuff?

We used to take those squeeze tube, a hunk of salami, and Ritz crackers when we too the Jeep out when I was a kid. It was great then, but I am not so sure now about processed cheese substance
