Allen, with no idea about planting there, here doubt your ad would get any attention right now. You might be better off posting them where they sell garden seeds or just running them in the shopper type paper. To me, still too early.

I have a Kubota 4400. If I've got the plow digging down 4-6 inches, 4wd is a must. I also plow with the loader on. I'm no geometry whiz but it seems to me that 1) the plow pulls the rear down and the front up 2) The fronts help pull 3) fronts pull better when they are in contact with the gound 4) loader is weight out over the front which helps keep the fronts planted.

Next time you plow, you might try running your top link out a little more, even if the back bottom runs an inch or two deeper than the front one. This kinda helps keep the front end pulled down better, sometimes. Just a thought.

Here's a pic of me plowing with a IH 720 4 btm 18" semi-mount plow. This pic was taken soon after I had bought it, no matter what plow you are using it takes a while to get the feel of it. The 720 is noted for its high clearance. We have a bunch of stones so when the auto-reset goes off it sounds almost like a gun shot.
Allen, your plowing looks great, nice and straight and looks like everything is covered well.

Shoot far Allen, them rows are fine. After a good disking, no one can see em any way. After a few hours in the seat, mine look like I was fightin' off Yellow Jackets or hittin' the refreshments too much. Thinkin' back, maybe I was. :D

kthompson,
Around here, prepping for spring planting is taking place right now. Although there's not much deep stuff anymore due to drip irrigation and no till/minimum till, what plowing and ripping is done is being done now.
If people are going to break land they need to get on it now so they have time for the rest of the prep. disking, bedding, etc.

oleozz, I don't know your land or your plow but the only thing I see is that maybe you need to speed up.

( I love pitchers :) )

I need to put the front coulter on my plow. It's missing. I'm going to try and build it so that it looks like an original.
Yes the coulters made a big difference when I got them adjusted right.

I looks to me like oleozz plowing looks fine. No grass showing. Plenty deep. Looks like the soil might be a bit granular so it may not roll over in tight clods like mine. And as CCWKen mentioned, a good disking will get it all leveled out and chopped.

I'm disking this weekend. Next most fun you can have second to plowing....maybe more.

I disced the garden under last weekend. When I started 7 years ago with a plow, my rows weren't nearly as nice as yours, allen. If I'd of thought of it back then, I'd have burned it before I plowed it. I burn every year now before discing and it sure helps get rid of the trash left over from winter and has almost eradicated the sand spurs. I'd be scared to burn a place as big as your pictures, though. I only torch about 2 acres, and have really wide firelanes plowed.

CDsdad, the land I plow belongs to a buddy and yeah, it needed to be shredded or burned before I plowed it but I didn't know that until I showed up to plow.

Burning if would have probably been a big mess. There was grass and houses all around and I'm sure, with my luck, something would have burned that we didn't want to burn. Like a house maybe.

This type of grass, this time of year burns like gasoline, fast and hot. I guess it's moot because we are under a burn ban anyway. Still, I wish I had shredded it first.

"MY" land is under cultivation. I lease 177 acres to a farmer and he keeps it real clean. I just don't get to play with my tractor on "MY" land so I have to find someone else to let me play, er, plow. :)

Just to explain this, I'm not a farmer, I'm a city boy who wanted to live in the country so I saved for 25 years, bought me some land and built a house and barn.

The lease helps me make my land payment so it's the smart thing for me to do.
Besides, there's no way I could afford to get what equipments I would need to farm my land myself and it's not cost effective, here anyway, to hire it all done.

Don't know why I typed all this. I just felt like talking this morning I guess
