removal of tree blow down

I would wrap chain cable just before tree hits the roof use come along take pressure of the roof than safely start at the top tree cutting back.

Can you get under it with a loader to lift it?
I would try to lift it up and push or pull it uphill so that it clears the peak, then pull it down to the ground.
Once its on the ground, I would cut it off at the root ball, then start chunking it up.

i'm listening to all input, thanks!
i do not have a way to get a tractor down there, let alone under the top.. that is actually
neighbors property and fully wooded. not to mention the entire property is on a
fairly steep grade.

I had a very similar scenario at on my house roof after a wicked windstorm.
I was able to get the forks under the tree, then lift and push till it cleared the eaves and then lowered the fork tips and rolled the tree off.

"That's a good one!" and: "Oh yeah! We got some wind yesterday!" I was outside just waiting for something to come down. Just a few small branches here.

Is there any solid trees on the far side of the root ball that can be used as an anchor to stand the full tree back up, using a come-along, if you connect the cable to fallen tree up near the roof peak for leverage?

It seems you can only cut the the fallen tree near the roof peak unless you want to climb the tree that the top is stuck in, but the "new butt" of the cut top section may slam down onto the deck using the top of the tree as the pivot point. Here lies the problem.
I assume you don't want to climb the tree the top is stuck in (pole saw?), but can go on the roof.

If cut near roof peak, how to prevent the "new butt" from falling on deck?:
- Are there any small trees nearby to cut and make a brace to put under the top part of fallen tree before you cut it over the roof to prevent it falling on the deck or roof? You might need a couple brace structures so one can "leap frog" the other as you cut chunks up to the first one. Maybe not.
Once you cut back top of tree to roof's edge, or just beyond, SECURELY standing on roof, you then may be able to pivot the top in a controlled way down to the deck.

Comealong to a tree higher up and pull up and over the roof, then cut it at the root ball?

Cody i believe the top of the tree is just hanging in space and not hung up. (notice the huge bend in the tree) I am going back over to the property tonight to get a better look at it.
A local tree guy says he can reach 40 feet from the road with a bucket truck to start taking the top off, but i need to get some measurements etc.

Ohh, that makes it a bit easier.
Go SAFELY on roof and slowly, I mean very slowly, cut DOWN though tree so that top of tree slowly hinges down to ground level, but tree stays attached at your partial cut (hinge). Then from the ground cut the tree back in manageable pieces starting at its top.:2cents:

If you can't get in there with a tractor, it's prob your only option. That top is still a good ways in the air, even if you could not sure you could reach it with the platform I proposed. Good luck!
