sealed bearings to replace my grease packed bearings?
I don't think there is a need to upgrade the bearings in typical American farm use. Does anybody here run in water like this?

The photo is from Yanmar-Japan's website showing typical applications.

"If" you have the tapered roller bearings I don't believe they are available as a sealed bearing.

IMO.If that was true I believe this would not be a Roller Bearing. This is off a RS1400 Which is sold new for the Ym2000 which is always totaly submerged in water and ALOT more rpm's and Wear.

Can't tell for sure but that doesn't look like a tapered roller bearing, looks like a ball bearing. Tapered roller bearings are made to be adjusted such as is on a trailor axle, etc.

yea i think that is a ball bearing bearing that is packed with greese. the guy who posted here a few weeks back about his sheet metal falling off his tiller, he had one like that did not have a cover on it.

My point being Either Or they are not sealed. This is the type of bearing you are refering to.Which My Bass boat trailer uses. There not much better. I was coming home one night from Okeechobee.Fl. and was 20miles from home and lost a Wheel/Hub which took out the spindle also. No cell Ph. Coverage back then and had to leave it at 2am in the morning on the side of the road. That Sucked Big Time:mad: I even used Bearing Buddies that I checked before leaving. The trailer was made to be submerged but still far from water tight.

Neat,

Did you order these from a Yanmar dealer or did you just go to the bearing house? You still dont have those part #s do you?

i bought it all from bearing wholesalers here in australia. i am sure you have something like it over there. the bearings were 6204-2RS and 6205-2RS and the race washer was 1mm thick. had to use this otherwise it was sloppy when tightened up. has been good since the replacment.

Agh race washer, I think I threw that away. Because new bearings were different.
