Massey Ferguson 1010
Greetings all from middle GA.

I am working on a Massey Ferguson 1010 compact 16HP machine.
Doing a light overhaul of entire machine, and I am currently on the brakes.
When opening up the covers, one side was full of nasty hydraulic fluid, and the other side full of sludgy rust.
I assumed the seals on both sides could us replacing, in attached picture seal is comprised of parts 25 and 26.
Part 25 is a small soft metal sleeve that goes over the main shaft, and a standard metric seal goes over that.
This part is 25mm ID x 30mm OD, and unfortunately not sold anywhere! I am also trying to be budget conscious.

What I am planning on is bypassing the sleeve by using a metric seal that fits tightly against the main shaft by itself, eliminating that part 25. I have already found good oil seals at this precise measurement (25mm ID x 42mm OD) and have carefully seated them.

Before I fill this machine with $140 of hydraulic oil, do some of you more experienced tractor mechanics find this to be a suitable solution?

Thanks!

That sleeve is a wear sleeve and not critical without considering that size tractor will not get a lot of usage. You could put a Speedi-sleeve, 30mm in diameter over that sleeve if it is grooved and salvageable.
If you want to put the sleeve on it now, research Speedi-sleeves and put your diameter to find. They usually have 1 or 2 widths.
As little usage as that size tractor is going to get, your new seal is probably just fine.

Yes, I use it to move dirt and pull fallen trees, it is not heavily used. Thank you much for the information, it will be handy to know if I find these seals leaking down the road!
