I would vote to keep the same office hours, but delivery to be four tens including Saturday.

I can't even remember when we had weekend delivery! It know we did, a looooong time ago.....:p

Do commercial addresses get Saturday mail delivery in Canada?
Dave.

I can do without Saturday Delivery. We got a letter Two months ago saying the Postal Service received new vehicles for rural delivery service. We were asked in a polite way to raise our mailbox height and clear all brush and obstructions (for security reasons) for a distance of ten feet from the box. No problems (B3200 with FEL) for the height problem and it was already clear for ten feet.

When I first retired, we spent 6 years full time RVing around the country. We used a mail forwarding service, so our mailing address looked like an ordinary street address and apartment number. Of course the number was our account number. And even without cell phones, we had no problem. At my request, the mail forwarding company simply discarded anything that wasn't first class mail or magazines. They had an 800 number I could call to tell them where to send our mail, what frequency, and for how long (usually one time only to General Delivery in some town). So we never got our mail more frequently than once a week, and I sure wouldn't need mail more than once a week now. So I'd be in favor of them dropping the Saturday delivery to save money.

Loads of ways the post office could save money but they won't do it. Saturday delivery? Heck, I check mail once a week. I live in a rural area where the only things I can get delivered to my home are hazardous materials that I can't pick up ( propane for a 500 gallon tank, heating oil, etc.) and mail. Can't get pizza delivered. They should have mail for rural areas go to a central pick-up location. Can't get food delivered, have to go out some time anyway. There are more places to buy stamps in our area than milk and bread. More gov't run buildings than food places. Don't even ask me which I need more.

Nope. Nothing. Nada. Zip on weekends.
.
We do, however have pick-up at the post offices until noon on Saturdays.
It is a must as not all folks can access the PO during normal work hours.

Also access is needed for registered mail, weighing packages as well as foreign mailings.

As to delivery, I happen to know that mail revenues are going down due to online billing and payments as well as fliers now all being delivered by private contractors.

Maybe the postal service has just priced themselves out of business?

Just this last week our delivery gal was able to finish her run at about 10:30 due to lack of mail.
