Just got an e-mail from Brenda in Customer Relations at Mahindra. Gave her the serial # and Dealers name. Hope she can resolve the matter. At least someone from Mahindra cares enough to respond. That' s a start.

Did brenda initiate the contact? If so, that is good news! Good luck.

This is definitely scary. I also have a 4500 with 345 hours. Please keep us informed. Also, I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has had any problems with the 4500 or similar Mahindra models.

Best of luck to you! I still think there are quite a few very important tidbits of information that are missing in the big picture of things.

Brenda sent me a PM on this site and said Mahindra didn't know anything about this. Strange, since my dealer has contacted them twice.

Seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is up to.

If I were a Mahindra executive in charge of sales and service, I would be on this site every day. When I saw a problem, I would find out what could be done to fix it, asap.

Isn't it better to put out a fire while it is still a flicker?

Someone at Mahindra USA must be aware of this site since lately I've seen their ad touting their latest quality award, this one from the Japanese.

I have a new Mahindra 5525, so I'm watching this thread closely. Hope we're not seeing a design glitch with the OP's broken 4500. Or a quality assurance problem on the 4500 production line.

I agree...

Of the handful of engines that I've seen that chucked a rod out the side of the block, they were ALL a huge oily mess... oil sprayed out of the hole everywhere...

Those pics look pretty clean... even though it has sat for a little while... not much residue.

I'm not saying that it did get run dry on oil, but those pics make you wonder...

I am wondering....

Is it true that he could only buy a long block and not a short block (or even just the bare motor block)?

Could one of you dealers explain what his options would be if Mahindra tells JasperAb to jump in a creek?
