As mentioned in the thread "Woods vs LandPride Finish Mower" I ordered a set of wheel assemblies for my Caroni RFM this past Saturday. The UPS truck dropped them off today. They came from High Grade Manufacturing. Very happy with them. Link below. At $52 each (The whole works - wheel, yoke, clip, spacers as shown) it's a bargain. Some sellers get that much for just the wheel. An added bonus, as that guy said in the Australian commercial "and.....it's gloriously orange". They have greaseable bearings (shipped dry so git yer gun ready).
The pictures below are an original LandPride yoke and the new assembly. I have accumulated about a dozen assemblies from the various LandPride and Caroni decks over the years. At least 6 are in decent condition, but some have been reworked multiple times and are not as nice and straight as I'd like. They tend to wear the wheels unevenly.
I need a total of 8 assemblies for the two RFM's I currently have. The goal is to put the new assemblies on the 7-1/2' deck I use the most, and pick the next best 4 for the 5' deck. Then pick some of the "less bad" ones for spares and scrap the worst.
The new assemblies are a bit heavier than the original LandPride it is shown with. The steel measures the same thickness. On the sides the steel maintains almost the same width from the top to the bottom. The LandPride gets narrower. The bolt hole location of the new yoke is about 3/8" lower in the yoke and slightly more offset. It shouldn't make a noticeable difference with regard to cutting height. The offset may help the wheel rotate a bit better when changing directions.
