I would use the slime or equivalent for puncture resistance.

There's a difference between puncture resistant and puncture proof.

Actually, I'm keeping my mind open and paying close attention to all possibilities. I'd like to know more about that micro-fiber stuff. Got any idea where I could get more info on the stuff?

I found a site that offers information on both poly tire fill and a "flat-proof" tire liner. I didn't look into it in a lot of detail be their Adobe file has some good info in it. The site is here.

I've had one flat on a rear tire caused by a piece of barbed wire. The hole in the tube was so tiny it was not even visible (except for the fluid draining out!). It cost me $100 to have someone come out to repair it. It won't take much of that to pay for a flat-proof alternative, not to mention the inconvenience caused.

I like where it says, "When fully cured, the tire has a resilient rubber core that cannot go flat under any circumstances. I like the term "resiliant", and if you really want a comfortable ride, they offer a softer foam which is still totally flat proof.

At a glance, I didn't see any real numbers, but they say that the foam is "naturally heavy" and makes for good ballast. In fact, if you don't want too much ballast, you have to buy their "lite" foam.

Now all I need is time, money and a way to get all my wheels to a foam fill shop.

Fact is, the current state of my finances makes this just a wish list item, but I am taking notes. I can't go through life believing I'll never have a good cash flow again. I'm workin' on it... /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks all you guys for the plethora of advice and alternatives, you people really know your stuff. now I just have to go look at the tractor in Rockton to get some ideas.

Ok.. I can't find the original manufacturer.. but think maybee that he has sold out, or licensed the product out, because this tech data from the following company looks very close to what I saw.. they have regular and heavy duty materials.. af equipment is listed in the products section of the heavy duty materials.

I don't know if this would work or not, but what if you filled the tires half way up with lead shot like shotgun shells use? Say 6's or 7's. They could just lay in the bottom and roll around. I don't think you could get up enough speed to force them to the outside of the tire. At the slow speeds that a tractor goes the weight would be very close to the ground and really lower the CG. Plus you could really add alot of weight in a small space.

Put lead shot in Power-Trac tires and it may sound like a loud diesel powered rain-stick at the right speed....but if it makes it more stable on the hills, what the hey.
