From reports I have seen here from Texas sources as well as the attached article, The wall is helping, is it perfect, no, but it is better than nothing.

Many of us have been to their auctions and many of us have purchased from them in the past. They have the ability to decide if they will or will not, accept auction items and bring them to market. IMO, by accepting and agreeing to sell the border wall material, They are betraying the US taxpayer. I for one won't set foot at another one of their sales.
In a nutshell, US Custom and border protection and all eligible border states didn't want all of it. They took 60% of it and that's that. The 40% left went up for sale.

Now how would you handle it? Read on....

Texas Governor Abbott had requested the Texas Facilities Commission look into what material was being sold.

"The Texas Facilities Commission told us today that the material for sale was mostly junk, with most panels covered in concrete and rust. There were a few panels that might be usable but not worth the cost of shipping to Texas from Arizona," Lt. Governor Patrick posted.

Why are the materials being sold?

Section 2890 of the National Defense Authorization Act, introduced by Republican lawmakers in the House, requires the Department of Defense to develop a plan to use, transfer or donate all “covered materials” purchased for border barrier construction between fiscal years 2017 and 2022.

The law mandated that the Department of Defense submit a plan “to use, transfer, or donate to States on the southern border of the United States all covered materials” within 75 days of the National Defense Authorization Act’s enactment and begin executing it 100 days later.

The process continued “until the date on which the Department of Defense is no longer incurring any costs to maintain, store, or protect the covered materials.” This led to the eventual sale of a portion of these materials through GovPlanet, a government surplus marketplace.

After fulfilling requests from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and eligible border states, transferring nearly 60% of the materials, the Department of Defense sold the remaining 40% through a competitive sales contract.

You're letting facts get in the way of the narrative man. Cancelled! ;)

That's going to end Jan.20
Not likely. Unless they stack border patrol in the wilderness on horses. 2000 miles is a lot of ground to cover. People should come and see the southwest. There’s not much between cities and they are a long ways apart. Also few or no roads in many places .

Little update and I have not posted on this thread at all but..

The Texas State AG has come out and publically stated that he has a million bucks available and will bid on ALL the materials Ritchie is auctioning off and will turn around and give it back to DJT to erect as he sees fit.

He also stated that the Texas Highway Safety Department will examine the trucks hauling the materials 'very carefully' and being a retired trucker I construe that to me that the Texas DOT is going to come down on the truckers for any and all infractions, no matter how minor. The one thing you don't want to ever do is PO the DOT. They hold all the cards, all the time.

So Texas's own agency says it's cement covered rust and doesn't want it while Texas's own Attorney General is willing to bid $1,000,000 to get it back? Idiocracy in action.
