River boat transport and choice of model

In the 90's, I became a warranty center for most of the big guitar manufacturers. My shop rate was $60/hour, but the agreement with the manufacturers always much less. The worst was Jackson/Charvel who paid $15/hour with a cap of 2 hours. Best was Gibson, who paid $30/hour.

I kept doing it because it kept the customers coming in, allowed me access to OEM parts and tech info, and gave my skills a meaningful endorsement. Additionally, a majority of the repairs were not warranty, so I could bill a living wage (today's guitars are the best built ever!)

Does their contract require them to service NH equipment not purchased through the dealer but still with a valid warranty?

Yes any equipment that is under warranty is required to be serviced by the dealer of the customers choice. This does not mean it has to be a priority for that dealer if the equipment was not bought there. I have also known dealers that charge the customer for the warranty work and pay the customer back for what New Holland pays them when the warranty is paid by New Holland if the customer did not buy the tractor from the dealership where the warranty is being done. So there are lots of things to consider when not buying locally besides just the price.

I had my Kubota 3830 and two pallets of attachments shipped from Seattle for $1600. I was quoted $900. Even though I had Alaskan style cost over runs, I saved $1000's by buying down there. At first, I thought my tractor was too big (intially I was looking at B2910), but after tangling with some beetle killed spruce stumps I'm very pleased with the size. The hills also gobble up the HP. Transporting a big unit to the bush would be a nightmare, but the time savings with the bigger unit would offset it. Also, I know a guy who took apart a 35+hp Kubota and flew it out.
