Yeah,I know my cousins knew all the tricks.....An ornery bunch for sure! They'd run that thing from Ribolt to Vanceburg,KY on a lark sometimes,which meant up Heron Hill and down it(this was on the OLD road before the 4-lane.) I survived....I still wonder how.LOL! don-ohio ^)

HehHeh! I'll guarantee you that my Uncle's Farmall `M' went over 20 mph......`course my cousins were pretty good with a wrench,and they probably had it tuned up quite a bit. LOL! There's no way a man,unless a sprinter, could've run with this thing. I was pretty fast at 14 yrs.old and I couldn't have caught it,no way.don-ohio ^)

And sitting up tall on that 'M', it feels like about 100 mph!

We used to tie a piece of baling twine to the mechanical governor arm of our farmall B. That thing would fly when you pulled the string and over revved the engine. Then daddy found out..... That was the end of that foolishness!

Haha. I dont remember the punishment. Just the scolding. I have however since then, showed my sons how to do it to their lawnmover that I gave to them to ride on when I replaced it with a zero turn model. They enjoy flying across the yard. I get a kick out of watching them. They havnt thrown a rod yet......

the manual states top speed is 16.4 mph with hst.

My Mahindra 6520 4WD does 27 mph. But that is a little fast for me on R1s.
