It was a very small adjustment. Here's how: 1. I cut the thin wire factory lead seal that passes through the hole in the end of the throttle stop adjustment screw. 2. I loosened the locking nut that holds the throttle stop screw in place. 3. I loosened the throttle stop screw about 1 turn. 4. I tightened the locking nut. 5. I fired up the engine and verified that it would rev to 2700. 6. Done! That's it.

I contacted my dealer and spoke with the service manager about this and he told me that cutting the seal on the throttle stop screw would void the tractor warranty. His response doesn't make sense to me. Seems a simple throttle stop adjustment would be routine...but, there must be some reason there is a lead seal on the screw. Any experience with this?

No experience, but I can see why it would void the warranty. You could set the upper speed limit too high and damage the engine by long term operation at this speed in an attempt to "speed things up." As stupid as that sounds, I am sure somebody has done it.

If your tractor needs a bump up to make PTO speed, suggest your dealer come out and adjust it for you and then re-seal it.

My B7610 gained about 100 RPM in it's top engine speed at the throttle stop as it broke in over the first 30 hours or so.

Thanks, Dave! I like the way you think. I'm about 50 miles from the dealer and never thought about inviting him to back up his talk. Two posts and I'm getting more education here than I could have paid for anywhere.
