Where is the best place to find used implements in Georgia?

I don't have a truck, but like you said if I can save $1k it's worth making a friend who has one.

Facebook Market place. Middle Georgia and SW Georgia have a lot of older stuff available. Not so much North or South East-Coastal Georgia.

Somethings, like a Box Blade, it looks like it's in one piece, it is fine; no moving parts. A plow or disk, pretty similar, although bearings in a disc can and do go bad, and they aren't really that cheap when you replace 12 or 16. Bushhogs, the gear box costs as much to replace as the whole impliment, so, you definitely want to check that everything spins freely, and blades and deck are in OK condition. Flail mowers, the teeth/hammers/blades aren't expensive, until you look at ordering 60 of them, then $4.50 a piece adds up; the biggest issue for a flail mower, is that the mail axle/drum/shaft part isn't bent or out of balance, and the gear box as well.

Tillers, honestly, it same, gear box, and rotating assembly, and no missing, or broken paddles.

You need a list of what you will do. For example if you have any inkling of working with big bales, you will need to go 40hp and up - I had a Kioti 30 hp with filled wheels and it still tipped trying to lift the bales. Lots of guys already mentioned the brush cutting, and if you are thinking development - like running water lines around the place or electric power - maybe a backhoe. But as was also mentioned, you can rent a small trackhoe fairly easily when you need it vs. the cost of a backhoe model. If you will till soil, again you need to go 30hp and up so you can use the bigger tillers - I highly recommend the Kioti tiller - made beautiful loam. Good luck, and enjoy. Oh - one more thing - make sure you have a spare remote - one thing I regretted not getting

My Angsun gear-drive tiller is the cat's meow! No burned belts or broken chains for me!

That thing is tougher than nails. It has even tilled up occasional football-sized rocks with no obvious damage. I also found some buried steel with it too!
