Root Grapple?

When I bought my grapple it wasn't so much about the cost savings but the fact that I would have to leave work and meet a driver to unload a grapple. It was just easier to drive a few miles and pick it up at my convince and it saved me a few dollars.

Yup, that too. The other thing is that as I recall they basically just drop the grapple/pallet in your driveway so you still need your tractor to move it. I don't think most trucking companies would allow a private customer to use their FEL with forks to unload a pallet from a regular non lift gate truck so there is no way around the lift gate charge if you don't have a loading dock.

i checked independant shippers and lowest rate was $465 and forklift or dock is required. 2700 miles, not a short distance.. using their freight company is actually less money.

I'm impressed. Somebody is making a lot of money on the transport.

Here's an idea (for someone): rent a big Uhaul truck, fill it and a trailer with as many 48" grapples as you can fit (special quantity pricing from Wildkat!) then drive it to the west coast and sell them for a profit at an Ag show or via CL! You could drop off a few in route for TBN buyers in the Midwest then ditch the trailer and recoup a good part of your transport costs.

Hope not. I ordered one and paid for it last week. Should arrive shortly.
Where in the Adirondacks are you? Our Camp is NW, will ship to Potsdam.

I have use my tractor & felt to unload pallets from trucks before. The driver had a pallet Jack & pulled the pallet to the back door of the truck while I unloaded them.

That's great if they'll let you. I would imagine there would be significant liability concerns for the trucking company so not all would permit the customer do do that.

So far there hasn't been any trucking company that has delivered to my house that would not let me unload with a fel but there are some companies that will only deliver to a commercial address so maybe that is the difference.

Same, here, I have unloaded off the truck sitting on the road.
