ROPS need help

OK I am asking for some help again....

I got my B7610 with the 4672A BH this week.

Unfortunately the ROPS that was on is the non-foldable one.

When I sit on the BH seat my head hits the top bar of the ROPS.

I was wondering .. Is the Foldable ROPS higher than the one I have?

I went to the dealer and they told me they could replace it but it would be a big job since they must take it all off i.e. take the parts under the tractor besides the 3pt.

What I find funny is that I was able to take off the top part of the ROPS with only taking off 4 bolts (the ones that holds the small yellow lights)

Isn't it possible to just put the top portion of the foldable ROPS on top of the tractor on the same posts with the 4 screws?

I have a feeling my dealer is trying to pull a fast one on me.

Not good ... if things go wrong this is a potentially fatality just waiting to happen.

On my B2910 the foldable ROPS is significantly higher than the fixed ROPS ... and the foldable ROPS is required for the backhoe. read your manual - it may be required on your model as well.

( Isn't it possible to just put the top portion of the foldable ROPS on top of the tractor on the same posts with the 4 screws? )

That is a dangerous situation.

I am very surprised they sold you the backhoe without the foldable ROPS.

I think they're kinda screwing you... If your dealer doesn't square this away by replacing the ROPS at his cost, I think you should contact the area Kubota representative. I wouldn't be surprised if you find out the Foldable ROPS (or an extended one, such as required on the Deere 790) is mandatory with the backhoe.

My dealer Installed a backhoe on a kubota b7800 and put foam around the rollbar where the operator would bump his head. I asked the dealer about this and he said the customer did not want to pay for a new roll bar. I agree this is unsafe, you should get a taller roll bar. David

My dealer sells everything with foldable rops. He says it avoids alot of problems down the road which I agree with.

 People buying the Kubota JD and MF sub compacts are getting into the exact same situation when they install after market Back Hoes on those tractors.

 People are using the unsafe short ROPS every time they add an after market BH to the Kubota JD and MF Sub-Compacts.

I don't think foldable rops are available on the sub-compacts.
Folks buying those tractors and then adding an after market BH are getting into the same dangerous position that Dan c has found himself in.

Hi,

Can you explain to me what is an after market BH? I am not sure I understand what you guys mean.

The BH I bought is a Kubota 4672A and I bought it at the same time as my B7610.
I spoke to the sales rep this morning, and he admitted he made a mistake, normally they don't sell Folding ROPS on the B7610, it's an option and is about 150$ U.S. extra. (The foldable ROPS part number is SFB-F24 while the non foldable s SFB24A).

Finally he sent his driver pick up the tractor right away and will install the folding ROPS this afternoon or tomorrow morning at his expense, (he said he will take the labor and price difference of the part) Plus will weld 2 extra hooks on my front bucket free of charge.

Finally I think he wanted to make sure I was satisfied and so far I am happy about it...... will let you guys know how it turns out.
