Les, that's a good looking buidling. I'll bet it was an interesting project. And I'm now living in the next suburb north of Irving; have one daughter living in Irving.

Picked up 12 gallons for $12.84/gallon at the Utica area (Consumer Square) store late last night (2/14/04). Enough for my big tractor (Belarus 525) and dozer (Cat D3B).

I can report that here in Merryland, Wallyworld has lots of Rotella syn. for $12.88/gallon. Cheap enough!

I only found 2 gallons on the shelf last evening and bought them both. I was told that 6 gallons would be in on Thursday, so it appears that it does sell out quickly. Seems that they would start to order more than 6 at a time. I have a feeling that it is some type of promotion that they are doing and the price might not last for very long... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well I was finally able to find it in Northeast Ohio Walmart stores at $12.84 per gallon for the 5W-40 synthetic Rotella. Grabbed 4 gallons while I had the chance. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif You other shoppers have been pretty good at keeping the shelves void until now.

Junkman:

I though you were the one with the BARBED sense of humor?? Maybe I should say "leaning out of plumb somewhat".

I'm glad my name didn't come up in your post although I am sure I wasn't too far in the background.................

Now for the thread...........

One of my sled buddies switched from 15-40 Rotella to the synthetic stuff this winter. He told me that the truck starts easier in the cold without being plugged in and that it gets better fuel mileage. I am going to try it next winter too. I will stick with the Cato JT8 for my tractors as a 55 gallon drum of synthetic oil would break my bank account.

Here is a picture of the building I built to store the tractor in.

Very nice building. What are the dimensions?

GerardC,

Building is 30 Wide X 42 Deep, 1260 sq ft. I ordered it from Steel Master USA, complete with front and rear ends. The front has a 12X12 framed opening in the center, and a 3X7 framed walk in door opening. They doors didn't come with the building, and the rear is solid. Everyone thought the 12X12 door was a an overkill, but when you start working with a tractor with a FEL, and attachment on the rear, then its almost too small, and the center height is 16 ft. We are buildign a new home on the acreage now, and since the building came first, then I have a place to move my toys into. Pricing was very good on this building, I have under $10K in everything, slab and all.

If you need a contact name and detail pricing, let me know.

Have a great day, Les

Junkman,

The building that I described was $5500 plus sales tax delivered, and the 12X12 roll up door was about $800, and the steel walk in door was about $300, with hinges and lockset. I purchased the doors locally and installed them myself. The concrete slab was $3200, complete, but I had to have the ground level, so that cost me a few hundred bucks. I had a few friends come on a Saturday and we put up 6 two foot arches the first day. The arches are assembles on the ground with bolts, and then swung up in place and then are attached with the other arches with bolts, and are left finger tight untill the complete building is erected. There were four of us the second day, and put the arches up one piece at a time, and at the end of the second day there were ten arches in place. My dad and I then finished in the next 5 days. ( 5000 Bolts & Nuts shipped with the building, and also included the base plate that was bolted to the slab, with 5 inch wedge anchor bolts, 116 of them, the anchor bolts didn't come with the building) I also put plumbing in for a bathroom, and 2 four inch PVC pipes in slab to bring in water pipes, and electricity from underground.

Was a fun project.

Les
