I often wonder where someone would look for a superior oil, IMHO every oil manufacturer tells you theirs is the best.
I'm also of the opinion that brand doesn't matter if regular service intervals are maintained.
No one said they were minimum standards...but the standard the MFG quotes is the ?? bottom line...hence the MINIMUM thats allowed for warranty purposes. Some will quote a RANGE of oils...others simply state that the oil has to be AT LEAST a grade (??)...hence its the MINIMUM. (Thusly any oil rated HIGHER "might be considered" a "maximum??"
Oil for my Kubota is to be AT LEAST "CD"..."CE"...or "CF" So guess which one is the MINIMUM grade to be used???.
