I don’t know how similar they are; I just know the Valvoline synthetic is a high quality diesel oil. It wouldn’t be recommended by Cummins if it wasn’t high quality.

Thanks Willy. Very interesting. They each have aspects where they excel, but overall both are very good.

Rotella T-6 was difficult to get around here for a while.
But the local Wal mart and auto parts stores have full shelves of it now.
Though it is $26/gal now at Walmart and I was paying $21/gal

I did my 300h oil/filter change on my tractor yesterday, discovered I have T6 for years worth of oil changes. I had 3x 2.5gallon bottles of T6 5w40.

There has been NO T-6 available in my area for over a year now. T-4 is just now starting to reappear on the shelves. Have to hurry - people are grabbing up the T-4 as soon as it appears and then no more stock for a few more weeks.
