rough start-up

   / rough start-up #31
I had the same problem. I spoke to the dealer and found that the timer for the glow plugs was not working correctly. It seems that it was a recall on certain models. I replaced it, which was covered by warranty. Since then I've had no problems with cold starting.

Is there any paerwork/bulletin associated with that recall....I'd be interested to get a copy. What models and years does it cover??

Thanks

I don't know what models are effected. I had the same starting problems as everyone else seem to have on here with cold starts. I called the dealer and he came and picked it up. He said that the glow plug timer was set to short. So I got it back the next week. It seemed to start ok, till it got cold. So I went to another dealer a little closer to my home to see about getting a block heater. This dealer called the company and the person there said that a block heater would not fix the problem. He said that some models had deffective timers on the glow plugs. I told him that another dealer had already changed it. Anyway they sent me another one and I put it on myself. The directions were very complete. It's located under the steering console. The only problem is the fuel silinoid is located right next to it. Just make sure you change the right part. I not sure where the paperwork is, but as soon as I find it I'll post it.
