Rounded off drain plug

/ Rounded off drain plug #1,641
Once again, I've been introduced to a new tool on this thread.

Now I'm not going to rush out and purchase one for myself (like I did for my Knipex), but I have the knowledge that it exists.

They are pretty cool aren't they? I have seen them used in industry for manufacturing processes.

Sorry it might have been me that sold you on the Knipex!

We use them for removing adhesive bonded fasteners in no flame/no ‘sparc’ environments.

A friend almost bought one to use at his garage. He puts in alot of windshields. It had an attachment that melted the glue or something, he said the guy demo'd the tool and it was super easy compared to a long knife.

need metal... get around a stud and it heats it up quickly.

Back in the 50s there was an inductance tool for soft and silver soldering copper tube Carbon pads bored for each side. Clamp on, power up, add solder when it will melt. Somewhere in all my moves it disappeared. I have never sen one since. Wish I had one of those again. Pads for every OD size from 1/4 to 1 1/8" OD tube. Great for working in tight places w/o burning everything around.

No need to apologise for putting me onto a great, quality tool... I wouldn't have learnt about it otherwise.

Ta.
^^ Ditto. Add me to the list. I didn't know about Knipex and now I have two:
